Itinerary
It is one of the most recognizable symbols of the city. This ancient Roman aqueduct is impressive and is in very good condition. It is an impressive testimony of Roman architecture and a must-see in Segovia. We will learn about its history, its legends, its legacies, reconstructions and secrets of the Segovia Aqueduct of more than 2,000 years.
We will visit the San Gabriel sand trap. In this space a second decantation took place before the water continued on its way to the upper part of the city. From the house you can see how the water entered the canal, we will see its canal and the clearer operation of the aqueduct. already in its aerial section, and how it left to travel the monumental route.
Medina del Campo Square. Juan Bravo was an important military and political leader during the War of the Communities of Castilla in the 16th century. The statue of Juan Bravo pays homage to this outstanding historical figure. The sculpture shows Juan Bravo mounted on a horse, with a determined and energetic attitude. It is a symbol of the courage and bravery that he showed during the aforementioned war.
The House of Spikes is known for its peculiar façade, which is completely covered in granite spikes carved in the shape of diamonds or spikes, hence its name. It is located on Calle Juan Bravo, in the historic center of Segovia. The origin of the Casa de los Picos dates back to the 15th century, and its unique façade is one of the most recognizable elements of Segovian architecture. The construction presents a combination of Gothic and Renaissance styles, and its design is quite unusual for the time.
The Church of San Martín is a true historical and artistic treasure in Segovia. Its Romanesque style, combined with Gothic and Mudejar elements, makes it a fascinating example of architectural evolution in the city. If you are interested in art and history, you should definitely include a visit to this church in your tour of Segovia.
The current Corpus Christi church was the old Main Synagogue of Segovia. The exact date of construction is unknown, but recent studies suggest that it was around the 14th century. This is the Synagogue that is best preserved of the five that the Segovian Aljama had, it is thought that due to its conversion to Christianity in 1410. Inside we can find the architecture typical of Jewish culture and the decoration typical of its later Christian use. It has a prayer room divided into three naves, separated by horseshoe arches and octagonal pillars topped with pineapple and scroll capitals. Above the side naves there is a continuous gallery composed of horseshoe arches interspersed with pentalobed arches whose intradoses are decorated with palmettes.
We will walk through the streets of the Segovian Jewish quarter, for most of its existence, the Jewish quarter lived in a climate of well-being and there were hardly any violent episodes with other Jewish population until the 15th century.
Upon reaching this point, the participants will have 1 hour to visit the cathedral on their own, + 1 hour for meal time, everything will depend on each group, and the pace we follow. Being a small group, we will not have any problems. Known as the "Lady of Cathedrals", this imposing Gothic cathedral is one of the main attractions of the city. Its size and architectural details will surprise you, as will the magnificent views from its tower.
This castle is one of the most famous in Spain. Its fairytale appearance, with its distinctive ship-prow shape, is truly impressive. Inside, you will find a rich history and fascinating architecture.
This viewpoint offers a spectacular panoramic view of the city. From here, you will be able to contemplate the old town of Segovia, the Alcázar and the surrounding landscape.

Here you have more information about this church: The Church of the Vera Cruz is located on the outskirts of the historic center of Segovia, in a place known as "El Parral". It is a Romanesque-Mudejar style temple and is considered one of the most important examples of this architectural style in Spain. The church was built at the end of the 12th century and is known for its octagonal plan, which sets it apart from other religious buildings of the time. The octagonal plan is believed to represent the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem and is a distinctive feature of this church. The exterior of the Church of the Vera Cruz has a simple but impressive design. The blind arches and the horseshoe-shaped windows, characteristic of the Mudejar style, stand out. Inside, you will find an octagonal central nave and a main altar that houses an image of the Virgen de la Vera Cruz.
Participants will have the option of walking through the gardens of La Granja with the guide. Participants who wish may also visit the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso on their own. La Granja de San Ildefonso is a historic royal palace and gardens built in the 18th century. It was used as a summer residence by the Spanish monarchs. The complex consists of a magnificent palace, beautiful gardens and spectacular fountains. The gardens of La Granja are famous for their geometric design and spectacular fountains. The gardens feature numerous sculptures, statues and tree-lined walks, creating a majestic and serene atmosphere.

A very complete excursion to Segovia and the Farm of San Ildefonso. Highlight the friendliness and Availability (in covers) of the guide, who was very attentive to my mother, considering her mobility when she was 88 years old.
