Tour ATV Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley from Cusco

I literally cannot imagine this trip going any better. Grimaldo and the guides went above and beyond every step of the way! We rode ATVs for so long all the way up the mountain and back down. Then we hiked to the peak. Grimaldo would make constant stops to allow us to take photos and even insist on taking photos of all the people who were travelling solo. At no point were we ever pressured into anything and it genuinely felt like their top priority every second of the trip was for us to have a great time. You don't see that often these days. If you're on the fence, don't even give it a second's thought and just pull the trigger.

This ATV tour to Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley was one of the highlights of my Peru trip! This tour made the early wake-up call and colder-than-expected morning temperature 100% worth it. The ATV ride was so much fun, and the scenery along the way was absolutely unreal; I saw herds of llamas and alpacas and landscapes that you wouldn’t experience unless you took the ATV route. A huge shoutout to our guide, José José! He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging throughout the tour. Since ATVs can't reach the summit, there's a short hike at high altitude, and he made sure everyone in our group made it up safely. He also took amazing photos for us! My only suggestion for improvement is the communication before the tour. I booked in April but didn't receive any confirmation or pre-tour information, so I had to contact the company myself the day before to confirm my reservation, pickup details, and other information, which was unlike other tours in Peru that reached out proactively. That said, the tour itself more than made up for it. I had an amazing time and would definitely recommend X Travel Peru and José José to anyone visiting Rainbow Mountain! P.S. Prepare for lots and lots of dust!

Highly recommended excursion due to the entire organization and how well it was managed by the team. The landscapes are incredible, the round trip route on ATVs is spectacular (a hug to our driver René who took me on the ATV because I did not want to do the route alone), and a very special mention to our guide, José José, because he was at our disposal at all times and was a very friendly and pleasant person. I would gladly repeat this experience if I had him as a guide again. Good day, good food, good route in general, good driver, and good guide... Well, what more can one ask for in this Andean paradise?

We did the tour to the Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley on an ATV, and it was a spectacular experience from start to finish. Everything was very well organized, and the landscapes are simply stunning. I want to especially highlight our guide Ysmael, who made a great difference throughout the experience: always attentive, kind, and ensuring that we were all comfortable and enjoying the tour. Additionally, he had a lot of patience and helped us make the most of every moment and every view. The experience on the quad bike added a unique touch of adventure, and the Red Valley was truly incredible. The professionalism and dedication of the entire team is evident. Taking a tourist bus to the Rainbow Mountains does a massive disservice to the jaw-dropping landscape around Vinicunca. Having the ability to ride up the mountain via ATV meant you got to see firsthand all aspects of the landscape. Erick, our guide, made the experience safe and explained all facets of the activity during the day. My only critique would be having more frequent stops along the way up and down to take scenic photos with the ATVs.

Our Rainbow mountain ATV tour was the perfect mixture of adrenaline, exercise and awe. Tour starts early - 3.30 am start. A tourist bus takes you to the ATV base. Quick lesson and then off. Takes about 1 hour to get to the bottom of RM and then you can either walk, jump on the back of a motorcycle or get led up on horseback. Local guides are literally running up and down the mountain leading horses. We elected to walk. The altitude turned a quick hike into something much harder but our amazing guide, Grimaldo, coaxed and encouraged us every step, while taking photos constantly. It was such a buzz to make it. Thanks everyone for making it happen.

Everything was perfect, according to the itinerary. Jorge helped us with everything and was always attentive to us. An excellent option to see Rainbow Mountain without much effort.

The entire tour was perfect, from communication the day before, pickup, breakfast and lunch, but the highlight was our tour guide Grimaldo. He is very conscious, caring, knowledgeable and most importantly very friendly and personable. Grimaldo made the day extra special. I highly recommend this company and Grimaldo. One of the best experiences to have in Cusco. Grimaldo, our guide, made sure we were safe, enjoyed the trip, and learned about the importance of the mountain and everything surrounding it. I would do it again a thousand times. Highly recommended.
