Toledo has had a wall from the Romans, which had to be rebuilt by the Visigoth King Wamba in 674. The current wall is of Arab origin where we can find some Roman remains. King Alfonso VI, is granted the completion of the works of the wall in 1085, after reconquering the city. Toledo has always had a great wall, well known throughout its history, taking center stage its entrance and exit doors, such as the Puerta de Bisagra, the Puerta de Alfonso VI or the Puerta del Cambrón.
The Plaza de Zocodover is a square of the city of Toledo. It was the nerve center of the city during most of its history, acting as its main square. A part of it was designed by Juan de Herrera in times of the reign of Felipe II
The Alcázar of Toledo is a stone fortification located in the highest part of Toledo, Spain. Once used as a Roman palace in the 3rd century, it was restored under Charles I and his son Felipe II of Spain in the 1540s.
The Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo is a Roman Catholic church in Toledo, Spain. It is the seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Toledo
The Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca is a museum and former synagogue in Toledo, Spain. Erected in 1180, according to an inscription on a beam, it is disputably considered the oldest synagogue building in Europe still standing. It is now owned and preserved by the Catholic Church
The Iglesia de Santo Tomé is a church located in the historical center of the city of Toledo, and was founded after the reconquest of this city by King Alfonso VI of León. It appears quoted in the 12th century, as constructed on the site of an old mosque of the 11th century

It was just what we were looking for. The guide, Oscar, was careful to tailor to the needs of different groups , which in our case meant lots of free time.
Thank you very much for your thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your Prado Museum tour and that your guide made the experience both informative and enjoyable. The Prado is home to some of the world's most celebrated masterpieces, and having a guide who can combine knowledge with engaging storytelling truly helps bring the collection to life. We are especially grateful for your recognition of your guide’s patience, professionalism, and inclusive attitude. Ensuring that every guest feels welcomed, comfortable, and valued is a fundamental part of the experience we strive to provide, and it is wonderful to know that her care and attention stood out during the tour. The Prado Museum is one of Spain’s most important cultural treasures, and we are delighted that you were able to discover its artistic and historical richness in such a positive atmosphere. Thank you once again for choosing Fun and Tickets. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for another memorable experience in Madrid. Best regards, Fun and Tickets Team
Tour guide Arantxa, knowledgeable and caring about the group. Was a fun trip!
I don’t know what the tour operator was thinking with this tour. The morning started with the bus being too full. It took over an hour to get that sorted out. The bus had three different tours on it going to Toledo. A full day tour, half day tour, and a tour with train ride. This totaled almost seventy people. The tour company sent one tour guide for all of these tours. Nacho did the best he could but he simply could not provide a great experience for everyone. The group was so large that we could not fit on roads and could not take decent pics. The audio equipment kept failing if he got too far away. We were about halfway through and just quit the tour because it simply was horrible. We would rather walk around ourselves (which was more enjoyable). We met the group at the end of the day for the bus ride back home. The bus broke down for about five minutes when we arrived back in Madrid. An appropriate ending. The operator needs to make some changes to this tour. I do not recommend.
Dear Customer, it wasn't the best of our days on what is considered the best tour of Toledo from Madrid. We don't want to blame our guide, Nacho, but the coach was only for 53 passengers. A large group of them had the tourist train included. The remaining 30 or so people had the tour and monuments included, an option that wasn't yours. Nacho has been sent for a tour review; he should have acted differently at all times. We are a well-organized company that should have allowed for this. You had a 90-minute tour and the rest of the day free. We regret what happened and are working to ensure it doesn't happen again.
Fabulous city. Great tour led by Beatrice and driver Paolo. Visited Synagogue of St Mary the white, Large El Greco painting at St Tome and the Cathedral which has about 20 El Greco paintings in the Sacristry. We had about 2 hours free time then a drive round the perimeter of the city which was stunning. Lots of great information from Beatrice who was very kind and helpful.
Dear Judith, You’ve described Toledo beautifully. From the synagogue to El Greco’s masterpieces and the Cathedral, it really is a city full of history at every step. It’s great to hear you also had time to explore on your own and enjoy those panoramic views around the city. Beatriz and Paolo will be very happy to know they helped make the day so enjoyable and informative. Thank you for your recommendation. Best, The Fun and Tickets Team
Beatriz and Hadrian were excellent and Toledo, beautiful. Very unfortunate that the structure of the tour fundamentally prevented a fluid or enjoyable experience - Beatriz handled 3 different tours admirably - (no / some / all monuments) split into 2 groups (English / Spanish). A “full day walking tour” was broken into short tours punctuated by awkward pauses as the different groups broke off to attend monuments or mill around waiting. I would recommend just catching a bus to Toledo yourself and buying a wristband for €14 - or ensuring your booking is dedicated to your experience, as opposed to attempting to cater to 6 groups simultaneously. Reiterating - great guide + driver, impossible tour to juggle.
Dear Geordie, It's clear that the less you pay, the more you expect. We're glad to hear you had an excellent guide and driver. We offer several compatible tours for our travelers to choose from, starting with a walking tour and, if they wish, adding a tour of the monuments. Your tour included a 90-minute guided visit; the rest of the day was free. We don't know what you did during your free time. We regret not meeting your expectations and not providing you with a more enjoyable experience. We stand by all the 5 star reviews we received that day. We believe the rating you gave is unfair. Sincerely, The Fun and Tickets Team
