Itinerary
The outer Tsukiji Market is a place full of vendors stores and shops where you can find all kind of exoctic seafood and fish from all around the world, and of course all kind of free sushi and sashimi, Japanese kitchen utensils and lots of movement since it is a place where local tokyotas are coming also to do their daily shopping and strolling around. A very chaotic place but also very authentic. I will show you some of its unique alleys, and you will be able to try some dishes as well before we are heading to our nest spot!
We will be able to reach our next spots, Ginza both walking or by metro. The shopping district were you can find lots of well designed & luxurious flagships stores, including the emblematic Wako Tower.
After Ginza I would like to show you some secret gems (very photogenic alleys specially at night) with Tokyo's postwar vibes of the Hibiya district. A place where at night locals come to grab delicious yakitoris with a very authentic atmosphere.
To get to our next destination we will be able to grab the JR line, and try some ramen inside the station (the ramen that follows samurai diet which were primarily vegan food), after this I will explain some important facts about the station and will be heading our next destination using also JR line.
Our next destination will be one of the most authentic and also one of my favorit markets in the city, where you can find pretty much all you want... Goods, souvenirs, daily stuff, clothing, spices, teas, and food... tones of all kind of asian dishes! The Ameyayokocho Market is one of the top most important markets since the first half of XX century and you will know why. Also the Ueno Park where we will have the opportunity to visit and see the market from a hidden place that it has been inspirational for many Anime and manga movies.
Our last stop , a busy market street along the Yamanote Line. The name "Ameyoko" is a short form for "Ameya Yokocho" (candy store alley), as candies were traditionally sold there. Alternatively, "Ame" also stands for "America", because a lot of American products used to be available when the street was the site of a black market in the years following World War 2. Strolling around its alleys with its particular postwar vibes. Tour will finish here but in case you wish to extended please do not hesitate to let me know!

A really excellent tour given by our Japanese guide Show. He was friendly, knowledgeable and interesting. We exchanged emails before the Tour and Show was able to tailor our time to visit places of interest. It was really helpful that he was happy to meet us at our hotel which was far easier and saved time. Highly recommended particularly given the size and complexity of Tokyo!
My husband, our kids (young adults) and I hired a guide to show us Tokyo. We got to experience Tokyo intimately because we saw, walked, tasted, touched, smelled, embraced and felt this amazing metropolis and its people. We received cultural, historical information as well as social, safety and preventive education to make our trip more enjoyable. We were very grateful and had a wonderful guide. We will be sure to call again next time we come with friends or family.
He is very knowledgeable about all the different of things he has done wonderful work for us and all
