Tokyo Self-Guided Audio Tour

I really recommend the Tokyo Self-Guided Audio Tour as it truly provides value for the money invested. It has about 12, 20-minute conversations, for each site, between two people who explain the various points of interest in Tokyo in an informative and amenable way. I recommend downloading the Sound Cloud app to easily play the various chapters.

Operator response

A guide who can’t speak, can’t speak English and much more

Attention the guide that was associated with me did not speak English and the Italian was absolutely poor, without verbs and syntax. He also did not know the timetable of the Imperial Palace and when we arrived at h9.45 the ticket office was closed it was. We decided to stop the tour and do it ourselves after only 30 minutes from the beginning.

Operator response

This review contains significant factual errors that must be addressed to prevent misleading future customers. According to our booking records, Mr. Bellini purchased our Tokyo Self-Guided Audio Tour on July 28, 2025, specifically selecting Italian as his preferred language during the booking process. However, his review incorrectly describes experiencing a human guide who "didn't speak English," which reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of the product he actually purchased. Our Tokyo Self-Guided Audio Tour is entirely digital and has never included a human guide. This is clearly explained in our product description, booking confirmation, and the detailed instructions sent via email before the tour date. The service provides customers with secure access links to professionally recorded audio content in their selected language, along with interactive maps to navigate 22 attractions throughout Tokyo. Mr. Bellini received exactly what he booked - Italian-language audio guides accessible through his smartphone. The reviewer's complaint about a guide not speaking English is particularly concerning since he specifically chose Italian as his tour language and our product doesn't involve human guides at all. Additionally, his mention of the Imperial Palace ticket office being closed suggests he was attempting to follow a completely different itinerary, as our self-guided tour covers multiple attractions with flexible timing that doesn't depend on specific venue hours. This review appears to describe an entirely different service than what was purchased, creating confusion for genuine travelers and unfairly damaging our reputation. The reviewer either failed to read the clear product description, ignored the detailed email instructions we provided, or is deliberately posting misleading information. Such reviews harm both our business and the travel community by providing irrelevant feedback that doesn't reflect the actual product experience. We strongly recommend that this review be removed from your platform as it creates misleading information for future travelers who are genuinely researching our Tokyo Self-Guided Audio Tour. The review describes experiences with a human guide service that we do not offer, which confuses potential customers and damages the credibility of your review system by allowing feedback that has no connection to our actual product.

The “NOT” tour. NOT much help, NOT easy to follow or use.

The commentary did not always go along with our location. When it did, the information provided was not very helpful. My husband and I have done other self guided tours that were fun, informative and they followed our location and gave information based on where we were located. I would NOT recommend this self guided tour.

Operator response

This review contains several significant inaccuracies that require correction for the benefit of other travelers. Our tour description explicitly states this is a SELF-GUIDED audio experience, not a GPS-tracking application. You received exactly what was advertised: two secure links providing SoundCloud audio content and Google My Maps with interactive attraction points, along with complete flexibility to choose your starting point and route according to your preferences. The core issue appears to be a fundamental misunderstanding of the product you purchased. You claim the commentary didn't align with your location, but our system specifically requires users to manually click on map points at each attraction - this is clearly explained in our instructions. You're comparing this to GPS-guided tours while having deliberately chosen a self-guided format. Our detailed cultural insights, historical narratives, and professional audio content covering 20+ major Tokyo attractions were delivered exactly as promised in our description. What's particularly concerning is your suggestion that we provide inadequate information when our audio guides offer exclusive historical insights, hidden stories, and cultural context that transforms surface-level sightseeing into authentic cultural experiences. The comprehensive instructions provided in our booking confirmation clearly outline the two-link system, explain how to navigate between attractions, and detail the flexible exploration format that allows travelers to customize their experience. This pattern of not following clearly provided instructions, then writing negative reviews that could mislead fellow travelers, demonstrates irresponsible reviewing behavior. Genuine travelers who read our descriptions and follow our straightforward system consistently report excellent experiences discovering Tokyo's fascinating history and cultural treasures. We maintain high standards for our cultural content and delivery system, and stand behind the quality experience we provide to thousands of satisfied travelers who understand and appreciate the self-guided format they've chosen.

Bad service

Super bad experience I was trying to contact tour person never respond to me they just want peoples money terrible experience You can never find anyone on location

Operator response

This review clearly shows the customer didn't understand what they purchased or follow the simple instructions provided. Our self-guided audio tour doesn't require any contact with a "tour person" - everything is explained in detail when you book, and we personally send the access links well in advance of your travel date. The customer received exactly what was advertised but apparently expected something entirely different without reading the service description. Here's how our tour actually works: We personally send you two email links well before your travel date - one for the audio content on SoundCloud and another for an interactive Google map showing all 20+ attractions. You simply click the map points to play the corresponding audio guide as you explore Tokyo at your own pace. There's no guide to contact because it's designed to be completely independent, which is clearly stated in the booking information. This reviewer purchased a self-guided tour but seems to have expected a live guide service, then wrote a negative review when they couldn't figure out the system we had already provided to them in advance. They claim we "never respond" when our service doesn't require any communication - the audio guides and maps are sent personally well before your travel date. We provided this traveler with full access in advance, but their intention appears to have been writing a negative review rather than actually using the service or reading any of the details we provided. For genuine travelers, this tour provides expertly researched historical content about Tokyo's most important attractions, complete flexibility to start and stop wherever you want, and the freedom to spend as much time as you like at each location. You get professional narration, detailed cultural insights, and an interactive map system that makes exploring easy. The only requirements are a charged phone, headphones, and internet access - all clearly listed in the tour details. This type of review unfortunately reflects someone who received full access in advance but chose not to use it properly, then blamed the service for their own decision to ignore the provided materials. Real customers who follow the straightforward instructions consistently have excellent experiences with our comprehensive Tokyo audio tour.

Waste of time.

Poorly organised. Waste of time and money. Don’t wish to spend anymore time on this nonsense. Avoid and do something more productive and meaningful.

Operator response

This review clearly demonstrates irresponsible travel behavior and selective reading. All the operational details this reviewer claims were missing are explicitly outlined in our tour description and additional information section, which every traveler receives during booking. Our self-guided audio tour system is thoroughly explained - including how you receive access links on your travel date, how to use the SoundCloud audio content and Google Maps integration, and what to bring for the experience. The reviewer's failure to read the provided information before writing a negative review represents exactly the kind of unethical reviewing practice that misleads genuine travelers. Our tour offers complete flexibility to explore Tokyo's most significant attractions at your own pace, with professionally narrated content covering locations from Tokyo Station to Senso-ji Temple. The system works seamlessly when travelers follow the clearly provided instructions. We've successfully guided thousands of visitors through Tokyo's cultural treasures, and our detailed preparation ensures travelers know exactly what to expect. This reviewer's refusal to engage with the actual tour content they purchased, followed by a public complaint about their own negligence, is unfortunately a pattern we see from travelers who don't take responsibility for reading tour details. Genuine travelers should be aware that reviews like this often come from individuals who didn't properly prepare for their experience or failed to follow basic instructions. Our comprehensive tour description, clear operational guidelines, and responsive customer support demonstrate our commitment to delivering quality experiences for travelers who approach tours responsibly. We encourage potential customers to read our detailed tour information and contact us with any questions rather than being misled by reviews from travelers who clearly didn't engage with the product they purchased.

Nice option to save 100$s on city tours

I didn't even listen to the Audio Guide. But it is reliable and well organized. After a couple of days (reasonable amount), the access to the audio files is cut.

Operator response

Dear Valued Traveler, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on our Tokyo Self-Guided Audio Tour. We're pleased to hear that you found it to be a cost-effective alternative to traditional city tours. We appreciate your comments on the reliability and organization of our tour. These are aspects we take great pride in, as we strive to provide a well-structured experience for all our users. While we're glad the tour proved valuable to you, we're curious about your experience of not listening to the audio guide. The audio content is a key feature of our tour, carefully crafted to provide in-depth insights, fascinating stories, and local perspectives that truly bring Tokyo's attractions to life. We believe it adds significant value to the exploration of the city. Regarding access to the audio files, we'd like to clarify that our current policy allows for extended access beyond just a couple of days. We understand that travel plans can change, and we aim to provide flexibility for our customers. We hope that if you use our tour again, either in Tokyo or in another city, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the audio content. We're confident it will enhance your experience even further. Underwhelmed.

Pretty exhaustive list of Tokyo sightseeing locations are covered. However the depth of the audio summaries leaves a lot to desire. I ended up reading more online and at the location versus using this guide. I would not recommend unless you’re seeking a very high-level summary of many different sightseeing spots in Tokyo.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about our Tokyo Self-Guided Audio Tour. We genuinely appreciate your honest assessment, as it helps us understand how we can better serve our travelers. We understand your disappointment with the depth of our audio content, and we take this feedback seriously. Our approach has been to provide comprehensive coverage of Tokyo's major attractions while keeping each segment accessible and digestible for travelers who are actively exploring the city on foot. However, we recognize that some visitors, like yourself, prefer more in-depth historical and cultural analysis at each location. The flexibility you mentioned is indeed one of our tour's key strengths - the ability to choose your own pace, skip locations that don't interest you, and spend extra time at places that captivate you. We designed our interactive map and SoundCloud integration specifically to give travelers complete control over their experience, allowing them to plan their route in advance or adapt spontaneously as they explore. Your point about seeking additional information online and at locations is valuable feedback. We've found that many travelers appreciate having a foundational understanding from our audio guides, which they then supplement with on-site exploration and additional research based on their specific interests. However, we hear your concern that our content should be more comprehensive as a standalone resource. We're constantly working to improve our audio content based on traveler feedback like yours. Your review helps us identify areas where we can enhance the depth of our narration while maintaining the accessibility that many of our guests appreciate. For future travelers reading this, we'd recommend our tour as a starting point for exploration, particularly for those who prefer a broad overview of Tokyo's highlights with the freedom to dive deeper into specific areas that spark their curiosity. Thank you again for choosing our tour and for providing constructive feedback that will help us serve future travelers better.

You're absolutely right that certain places in Tokyo are particularly spectacular during specific seasons, like the cherry blossoms in spring or the vibrant autumn colors. In fact, we've been working on updates that include: Seasonal highlights for each location Best times to visit specific attractions Special events and festivals throughout the year Tips for experiencing Tokyo's distinct seasonal changes These updates should be available in our next release, making the tour even more valuable for visitors planning their trip around Japan's beautiful seasonal variations. Very confusing details and I haven't received Audio file - waste of Money

I have booked Tokyo Self-Guided Audio Tour , while booking it is very confusing without any proper details about transport. I have been kicked back and forth between Viator and local Operator . This is absolutely useless and kind of cheating the customers. Very disappointed with Viator

Operator response

This review demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of what a self-guided audio tour actually is and represents irresponsible consumer behavior. The reviewer claims confusion about "transport details" when our tour clearly states it is a SELF-GUIDED experience where YOU choose your own transportation and route - this is explicitly explained in our description. Our product description clearly states that transportation is NOT included in this tour. The "What's excluded" section explicitly lists "Transportation (pick-up and drop-off)" as not part of the package. This is standard for self-guided audio tours worldwide. The audio files are not "received" as downloads but accessed through secure SoundCloud links sent on your travel date, exactly as outlined in our detailed operational instructions that every customer receives during booking. The reviewer's complaint about being "kicked back and forth" between platforms shows they failed to read the basic tour mechanics before purchasing. Our comprehensive tour description clearly explains that this is a flexible, independent exploration experience covering 20+ major Tokyo attractions from Tokyo Station to Senso-ji Temple, where travelers use provided audio guides and interactive maps to navigate at their own pace. The entire system - including how you receive access links, use SoundCloud for audio content, navigate with Google Maps integration, and plan your route - is thoroughly documented in our booking information. The reviewer's accusation of "cheating customers" is particularly irresponsible when they demonstrably didn't engage with the clear instructions provided to every customer. This pattern of writing negative reviews without reading tour descriptions represents exactly the kind of unethical reviewing behavior that misleads genuine travelers. Our self-guided audio tour has successfully guided thousands of visitors through Tokyo's cultural treasures using our proven system of secure links and detailed instructions. Potential customers should recognize that reviews like this come from travelers who approach purchases irresponsibly and then blame service providers for their own failure to understand what they bought. We encourage serious travelers to read our detailed tour information and contact us directly with any questions rather than being misled by reviews from customers who clearly didn't prepare properly for their experience.

Excellent place to visit

One one best place to be visited in Coimbatore. Great collections of cars . One can develop his science knowledge in the science exhibition. But the entrance fee is too high.
