Me It was incredible. And we were discovering the neighborhoods while we talked about the culture.
The tour helped us get oriented in Tokyo on the first day, it was exactly what we wanted. Patty, who led the tour, was very nice and took us explaining every detail to a beautiful park, to Ueno, Asakusa, and even Akihabara. We saw everything to get an idea and be able to explore it in detail later, but it was very helpful for gaining confidence in Tokyo.
We had the absolute pleasure of experiencing Tokyo through a private guided walking tour, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the moment we met our guide, Himena, it was clear we were in exceptional hands. Her English was flawless, her knowledge incredibly deep, and her passion for Tokyo and its history was contagious. But more than that, she brought warmth, humour, and genuine care to every moment of the day. Our journey took us through some of Tokyo’s most iconic and meaningful locations. Walking through the vibrant streets leading to Senso-ji in Asakusa was unforgettable, the mix of history, culture, and atmosphere was brought to life through her storytelling. We then found complete tranquillity at Meiji Shrine, where the peaceful forest setting felt worlds away from the city, again, made even more special by her insights and explanations. Experiencing the energy of Shibuya Crossing was something else entirely — organised chaos at its finest and she knew exactly where to stand for the best view and photos. We also wandered through the beautiful grounds of Ueno Park, discovering hidden temples and peaceful corners we would never have found on our own. What truly set this experience apart, though, was our guide herself. Her ability to connect the history, culture, and modern life of Tokyo into a seamless story made every stop meaningful. We enjoyed her company so much that we ended up inviting her to dinner, which says everything about how comfortable and enjoyable the day was. If you’re considering a guided tour of Tokyo, do yourself a favour and book a private walking tour like this. It transforms the city from something you simply see into something you truly understand and feel. An unforgettable day, led by an unforgettable guide. Highly, highly recommended.
We visited Asakusa, Ueno, and Shinjuku on a 6-hour tour, and everything was great. We asked in advance to include a tea ceremony, and they kindly arranged it for us. The tea ceremony was amazing! Our guide Rei explained not only the sights but also everyday life in Japan, which made the experience very special. The ramen restaurant in Shinjuku that she took us to was excellent. She helped us with shopping, which made everything easy. We could not have enjoyed Tokyo this much on our own. It was a bit early for sakura, but we still got to see different types of sakura, so we were able to cover everything we wanted to see.
We were on a cruise and only had a short window of time to explore Tokyo. Out guide was AMAZING! She made sure we were able to see as much as possible during our tour. She was flexible with the stops we wanted to make and had a great personality. She even took pics of us and sent them all at the end! 10/10!
Wonderful experience. Kohei took us to lots of interesting places, some not often visited by tourists. We explored the subway, an experience all it own and good places to eat. Thanks for all your help, it’s appreciated.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review🙏 We're so glad Kohei was able to share some of Tokyo's lesser-known local gems with you. He truly enjoyed guiding two such knowledgeable and enthusiastic guests. We hope the memories of Tokyo stay with you for a long time, and we'd be absolutely delighted to welcome you back if your travels ever bring you to Japan again. Thank you for choosing Tokyo Footsteps Tours!!
Our tour guide Himena was amazing. We were nervous about negotiating the Tokyo Metro, and seeing all of the best of Tokyo. She spoke beautiful English and could not have been more helpful. We then felt confident to take on this huge bustling city ourselves. Signing up for this tour was a brilliant decision.
Thank you so much for this wonderful review, and for choosing us for your first full day in Tokyo!⭐️ You were able to see so many spots within just 6 hours, and we hope your walk around the Imperial Palace today was just as memorable. Please feel free to reach out anytime if you have questions or need help during the rest of your stay in Japan. We hope to see you again in the future!
Himena was very kind and knowledgeable. We decided to meet at the station, since I felt confident, but got lost she was very quick in finding me and assisting me. She helped me find skin care I wanted to try and offered a lot of knowledge and facts about our stops. I definitely recommend whether you’re traveling alone or in a group. 100% worth the investment ☺️
Thank you very much for your kind review! We are delighted to hear that you had a positive experience and that our guide was able to assist you smoothly, even when navigating the station. We hope you now feel more confident using the train system during your stay in Japan. We also hope you enjoy the skincare products you discovered during the tour🙌 Thank you again for choosing Tokyo Footsteps Tours. We wish you a wonderful rest of your time in Japan with your family!
We booked the tour in Spanish for the whole family and Taisei was in contact with us from days before to define the places we wanted to meet.
