Enjoy traditional Japanese performing arts culture at the Kabukiza Theater with a guide! We will first enjoy the elegant exterior of the Kabukiza Theater. Once inside, you will visit the Kabukiza Gallery to learn more about the history of Kabuki and its performances. There is a small shrine at the Kabukiza to pray for full house and safety of the performance. The public is welcome to visit the shrine. Finally, we will go shopping at the Kobikicho Square. This bustling place is filled with Kabuki related goods and souvenirs. How about something you can only buy here as a souvenir?
Let’s visit Ginza Mitsukoshi, a department store with over 350 years of history. At Ginza Mitsukoshi, you can enjoy window shopping and discover a wide range of Japan-made products, from traditional crafts to stylish modern goods. We visited the Kabuki theatre museum with our guide Mikio who was kind enough to show us around the premises (not the main hall though) and explain all about Kabuki and the history behind. One can obviously read the explanation that accompanies the exhibition, but having Mikio as a guide made the diffence. If it wouldn't have been for this tour, we probably wouldn't have visited the venue in the first place, nor discovered its basement where locals sell arts and crafts at pretty reasonable prices too!
