Description

The Caminito del Rey, known as "the most dangerous trail in the world", is located only 60 km from Malaga. Enjoy a guided tour including entrance, expert local guide, safety helmet, water bottle and shuttle bus from Hotel La Garganta (El Chorro, south access) to the start of the tour, returning to the same point at the end. For about 3 - 4 hours you will travel 7.7 km of trails and walkways suspended over the impressive Gaitanes Gorge, with heights up to 105 m. As you walk, the guide will share the history of the place and discover spectacular views of the Guadalhorce River, the El Chorro Swamp and the natural landscape. The experience culminates by crossing the emblematic suspension bridge of Caminito del Rey. At the end, you can choose between crossing the new longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Spain, or returning along the alternative path, before returning to Hotel La Garganta.

Access the hotel reception to be greeted by the guide who will show you El Caminito del Rey and meet the group.

The group will board the shuttle bus from El Chorro train station to enjoy a panoramic walk along the natural landscape road enjoying the views towards the reservoir of the Conde de Guadalhorce until the start of the route El Caminito del Rey through the northern access in the Ardales area.

Before starting the spectacular tour of the Caminito del Rey, we will access the famous tunnel dug into the rock, a unique entrance that takes us into the heart of the gorge.

Pass by

Once we start the path that will take us to the northern access of the Caminito del Rey, we will pass in front of the geological formations of this impressive natural place and observe the tunnel of the Tafonis.

We will make a short tour along the path of the Emblase de Gaitanejo until we reach the reception of the visitor center of Caminito del Rey (northern access)

The guide will distribute the safety helmets and give small instructions on recommendations, guidelines and safety to consider within the official route of the King’s Path before accessing its interior.

After crossing the suspension bridge, we will reach the front of the gorge, where the El Chorro reservoir begins to form. We will descend by stairs and a terrain route to the exit of the Caminito del Rey, at the southern access.

We will arrive at the end of our tour at the Caminito del Rey helmet collection point at the exit of the southern access, in El Chorro, 200 meters from the meeting point where we started the activity. Here you will return the safety helmet to the staff of Caminito del Rey.

Once the visit to the official route of the Caminito del Rey has ended, we will finish our activity in the picnic area of the Caminito del Rey. Here you can rest in this enabled area or return to the point where our activity began to drink some food and drink, enjoy the wonderful views of the Caminito del Rey or end the tour from the means of transport you chose.

Magnificent!

Absolutely incredible scenes. Great hike. It is not dangerous as long as you don’t try to take selfies while backing up.
