Ticket pass to the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center (Self-Guided Tour)

Description
No venue in the Smokies provides a better glimpse into the human history and diverse cultures that have inhabited this beautiful region. From the Native American villages of 10,000 years ago to the moonshine culture of the 20th century, the Heritage Center offers a little something for everyone. You can also tour authentic structures of the region which have been relocated to the Heritage Center campus for preservation and interpretation. These structures are fully furnished, just as you would have encountered them in their original locations. Included in the collection are log structures dating to circa 1800 as well as a church, a sawmill, a blacksmith shop, cantilever barns, and even a moonshine still house!

Nice little museum. The outside part has all the buildings present in a town of a hundred+ years ago. They are well explained and it’s very informative. Takes about an hour or so to go through the outdoor and two indoor exhibits.
Perfect look at the Smoky Mountains history in the area for those in Wheelchairs. Everything was very accessible. Many of the buildings were similar to those in Cades Cove that we couldn’t get to. The staff was very helpful and gracious!
The minute we walked up to the entrance we were greeted with smiling friendly faces. We started out with a guided tour through Cades Cove; Bruce, our driver and guide was awesome, very knowledgeable and great photographer! Even though we didn't see any bear, he showed some much beauty and history! We loved it, and will be going back soon. Then once we got back to Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center, we went through the museum and thoroughly enjoyed that as well! Lots of history, looking forward to our next trip soon.
Thank you so much for your kind review! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our Cades Cove Bus Tour and a walk through our museum and historic village! We look forward to welcoming you again soon!
Spent a couple hours here on a rainy afternoon. The outdoor exhibits are fun, and the explanations of each building are well-written and descriptive. My favorite was seeing the basement still and watching the video to learn about making moonshine. The indoor displays were also interesting and educational. The 24-minute video was especially nice since the park doesn't have a video in the visitor centers. Very reasonable admission price. Highly recommend!

We have made several visits to the Smoky mountain heritage center that this year. We have taken grandchildren to tour the historical exhibits in the museum. We have attended the antique car show. We have also attended several of the summer concerts. The one that's past weekend which was an Eagles music review was excellent. We always enjoy our trips to the Smoky mountain heritage center no matter the activity and considerate a wise use of our time and money.

We had a great experience in Townsend. It’s a little out of the but worth a visit. We went horseback riding there an definitely a wonderful experience
Thank you so much for your positive review! Townsend is lovingly known as the "Peaceful Side of the Smokies"!
This was an interesting look at the ingenuity and perseverance of the people who carved out a life in this area. We learned so much from the indoor museum and outdoor exhibits. The museum had lots of hands-on things for kids to do. It's a great place for families to come, and a nice gift shop, too.
This place was great! So informative about early life in the Smokies. Was just like stepping back in time. Will definitely go again.

Great museum. It is very quiet but it packs a punch. It tells stories from the Great Smoky Mountain area starting from it's earliest inhabitants. Lots of artifacts inside. Outside there are 14 buildings to explore, all local to the area and moved to the museum.
