The first stop at a viewpoint will allow us to enjoy impressive views of the Caldera de Tirajana.
We will begin the day by visiting this charming town of white houses among palm trees, which has a long history associated with olive cultivation and beekeeping. There you can learn some of the stories about the ancient inhabitants of the area that are still latent in its streets and people. In addition, we will visit a business in the village where you can find KM 0 products and wonderful handicrafts to buy as souvenirs.
We will go to La Fortaleza, one of the last places where the ancient inhabitants of the island were located. This enclave of connection between heaven and earth will make you connect with the aboriginal culture, and it will be like a trip back in time.
You will enjoy a tasting of the typical gastronomy of the island prepared by a local restaurant.
This will be the time to go on a small picturesque walk through one of the narrowest ravines in Gran Canaria, where the erosion of the water that once ran through it leaves us with indelible images to remember.
End your day with a relaxing stop at Playa de Arinaga, an authentic Canarian coastal town free from the usual tourist crowds. Here, you’ll have the chance to unwind, take a refreshing swim in its crystal-clear waters and soak up the local atmosphere. It’s the perfect end to a day filled with adventure and discovery.

In areas with heavy traffic, especially in the capital, we may propose a nearby pickup point to the hotel to improve accessibility and punctuality. Pick-up Time Confirmation: The day before the activity, we will contact you between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM via email, WhatsApp, SMS or phone to confirm your exact pick-up time. - The hike to La Fortaleza de Ansite is a 650-meter trail with a 40-meter elevation gain, featuring uneven terrain and a short elevated section, which can be bypassed if needed; the entire route takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, including two light walks into the ravine under 1 km each.
- Restrooms are available at Santa Lucía de Tirajana, La Caldera Restaurant, and in Arinaga, where you can also purchase snacks or local products; no restrooms are available at La Fortaleza or Barranco de Las Vacas.
- All tours are led by certified professional guides, ensuring a safe and knowledgeable experience throughout the activity.
- The activity is limited to groups of 20 people, allowing participants to share a vibrant group dynamic and enjoy the hike together.

Celeste and Victor were great and funny guides. The tour was perfect but the last stop at the fisherman’s village Arinaga was not necessary.
This was an absolutely amazing, fun, and educational experience. Our guide, Celeste, was not only incredibly knowledgeable, but her passion for Canarian history and culture was truly infectious. Gran Canaria, as well as the other Canary Islands, has a fascinating history, and we learned so much about the island’s traditions, culture, and the wonderful local products that are still produced here today. Visiting the stunning red canyons, exploring the caves where the indigenous people of the Canary Islands once lived, strolling through the charming village of Santa Lucía, enjoying a delicious traditional Canarian lunch, and finishing the excursion with some relaxing time at a beautiful local beach made for a perfect day. Everything was well organized, the pace was relaxed, and we never felt rushed. It was truly a memorable experience and one of the highlights of our holiday. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to dive deeper into the rich history, culture, and traditions of Gran Canaria. It’s a wonderful way to experience the island beyond the beaches and the typical tourist attractions.

What a great day with Victor and David. What an adventure and beautiful parts of the island they showed us. Our group consisted of 16 people and they involved us all. It was fun, with a lot of humor (Victor is really a born comedian) and we were looked after excellently. I felt safe, there was an eye for everyone and they made sure that all the food we got was safe for me too despite my allergies. They exude enormous passion for their profession and have a lot of knowledge of and about the island. Highly recommended if you want to see more of Gran Canaria than beaches and know more about the history of the island, but above all, prepare for beautiful views and breathtaking photos!
