So many insights about the unique shops and food culture of Aix en Provence. We got to know our genial host Thomas as a friend!
Thomas Garcin (thomas-en-provence) was a wonderful guide. By chance, my husband and I were the only participants on our tour. We got personalized attention, which was a plus. The stops were informative (and delicious). Since we will be Aix for a little while longer, we look forward to revisiting some of the shops and the market to enjoy Aix even more. Merci, Thomas
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and brought us to many restaurants and food stores that would often go overlooked by tourist. All of the food I ate on the tour felt like true Provence cuisine. On top of it all, the tour provided a lot of knowledge on the culture behind the food which was neat. Overall great tour!
Thomas was an excellent guide that showed us wonderful places and taught us a lot of history on both the food and the city itself. Excellent tour!
This food tour was a great way to experience all the best of Provencale food. Thomas did a spectacular job at taking us to the most authentic places in the city, including the market, sweet shops for Calais on candy, truffles, ice cream, and the famous Pan Bagnat sandwich. The tour was a slow paced to allow time for conversation and added city history. The picnic in a quiet alley was very nice. It was also great to connect with the other travelers in the group at the large table in the coffee shop. I highly recommend this tour with Thomas. Finally, make sure you go hungry!!
This food tour with Thomas was fun and chock full of information and FOOD! Thomas is very knowledgeable about the local food scene and the bigger picture of where the food originated and the details of how it is constructed. I felt like he personalized the tour along the way. He is easy to understand and very personable. We bought things along the way and returned to two of the sites the following day to purchase more food. This was a real treat and I highly recommend it.
This was a wonderful tour. Robert loves the local food, respects the vendors and is very knowledgeable. He found some “offbeat” locations and we were welcomed. He’s a very good guide and we recommend this tour.
Thomas was a substitute for the original guide . He was excellent. We had a wonderful day with him. The tastings were excellent. I was glad that I did not have breakfast because I could enjoy the amazing focaccia sandwich in the market, many tastings, stop for a coffee and the lavender ice cream. This was my first food tour. I would highly recommend him. Sheila
Thomas was a terrific guide who knows the local food and vendors well. He was friendly, and the locals clearly love him.
Incredible experience! Thomas was such a great host. Ended up with a small group so it was even more personalized. Such a fun afternoon of getting to know the area, meeting nice folks, and tasting some amazing foods
