The Island Tour

My 12 year-old son and I went on a kayak tour to visit a few sandbars located in Anna Maria Island. Our tour was called the island tour our guides were named Collin and Jack. There was good communication prior to the outing. They only hiccup was finding them to begin the tour. I was told to park at the beach and look for a red trailer, butthey failed to mention they were at the boat ramp. I could not see the red trailer from the road, and so I drove past the boat ramp looking for the red trailer. But, we eventually figured it out, and they patiently waited for us to arrive so all was well. Keeping the kayak going with my son was more difficult than I anticipated, I think because we were fighting the natural waves and current of ocean. I had a previous shoulder injury, and I began experiencing pain about halfway through the trip. My son and I were not doing a great job of keeping up with the group, but both guides were extremely patient with us and helpful. The two guides were kind enough to to take turns attaching our kayak to one of theirs to help us get to where we were going. We were able to hop out of our kayaks at each sandbar, location, and snorkel around to find all of the goodies the Ocean has to offer. They provided snorkel equipment, however, my son and I had our own. We found sand dollars, giant spider crabs, large lightning, and conch shells, etc.. They gave us a little bit of background in history about the area as we were kayaking, which was nice. Overall, I would say it was a great trip! And if I knew I was not going to have shoulder pain, I would definitely it again!

It was a beautiful day. The staff and our guide, Allie, were all so kind and informative. We had a great time. Got to see some dolphins and spider crabs. Allie gave us some cool fun facts on the spider crabs as well.

Awesome tour. Guides were so engaging. Saw manatees, crabs. Kayaked to a few spots. Secluded beach and sandbar. Colin and Jack were great hosts. Fun, active and super interesting. Highly recommend! We were traveling with a 7 year old and he loved it tooand was fine in the kayak!

We had an awesome time! Allie was great, definitely one of the most memorable parts of our vacation!

We had a great time on our island tour! The morning spot was great since it wasn’t too hot yet and there weren’t too many other boats out so not a lot of waves to fight as you’re kayaking. The kayaks were comfortable and our guide, Allie, was awesome! She helped get us back into our kayak after each stop, catch crabs, and was patient while we tried to find our rhythm (still searching for that unfortunately lol).

The Anna Maria Island Tour was perfect! Jackson was an awesome guide who made sure our family of 4 had an exceptional experience. We saw manatee, crabs, conch, and many egret that stood so close to us. Jackson had a great knowledge of the area and was very interactive with our group. Great value for this trip! Many fun memories we will treasure! ☀️🙏🙌🏖️

Jackson was very helpful. He pointed out a manatee, found huge conk shells and showed us a school of fish.

We had a wonderful time and the guides were great. They provide all that you need from life vest, mask, snorkel, waters and water bag. Found spider crabs, live sand dollars (can’t take anything alive), and saw dolphins and manatees. Title is a little misleading as thought one of the stops was doing shelling on an island but we didn’t “tour” or go to any island (just kayaked in intercoastal and snorkeled on sandbars near an island in the intercoastal).

Our experience was amazing, and our instructors Ally, Kai, and Jackson were great! Very knowledgeable about the wildlife and recommendations. We found shells, sandollars, and crabs. Even seen manatees, dolphins and caught a ray jumping out of the water from the island. Highly recommend!
