The Delicious Chania Street Food Tour

We were in Chania for a cruise port stop but didn't have a ton on our list to do, so decided to do a food tour so we could see some of the things and taste some of the foods! Overall we thought the tour was great. We had a pretty small group of 6 or so, and Manos did a good job of showing us a variety of things around the city. We ended up making six stops overall, each of them interesting and with a different type of bite. We ended up at a cafe with loads of plates where we could hang out as long as we wanted to before we headed back to the ship. Manos knew a lot and explained it with humor and kept things interesting. Glad we chose this excursion!

Our food tour with Elene was absolutely FANTASTIC! She was incredibly knowledgeable about the history, culture, and traditions of Greece and Chania, which made the experience so much more than just a food tour. Every stop introduced us to something delicious and unique. We tried classic Greek favorites to authentic local dishes we probably wouldn't have tried on our own. The walking portion was also very manageable since you get to sit down and relax at most of the stops, making it a comfortable pace. Along the way, we explored local spots and wandered through the beautiful Old Town of Chania, so you get to see it all! This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Chania and something we would recommend to anyone visiting. Thank you again, Elene, for such a memorable experience. It was a nice easy-paced walk through old Chania with wonderful food stops and a bit of history. For cruisers, the very inexpensive 3.60 Euros round trip) shuttle bus takes you from the cruise dock to the middle of the old town. The start of the tour is only about 3 blocks away. Very easy to navigate.

What a fabulous food tour! We have been on several in other cities and this has been the best by far. History, food and a simply great guide that was generous with her time and made sure we were all included. Lots of local food included in the tastings which is what we were after. Recommend highly!

We have just returned from the “Delicious Chania Street Food Tour” which was led by Manos. It was a superb tour and Manos was excellent with his knowledge of Chania and Greece in general. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who wants a taste of Chania. The food was exceptional at all locations - and the locals were a joy to meet!

This tour is officially my favorite of my whole trip! Our guide was kind, friendly and extremely welcoming. I was in a small group of myself and three other people. The tour was close and easy to walk. Please please go on this tour!

This was our favorite food tour. Our guide Antonis was wonderful, he was very knowledgeable and extremely kind. He took us to SO MANY places, we tried so much food, he kept asking us he we needed more, if we wanted more water, he made sure we were happy with everything. We fell in love with the city and the food. We loved it so much that it was hard to say goodbye to Antonis. What an amazing experience!

Come hungry! Be prepared to walk a good bit and wear sunscreen and/or a hat. The tour is well paced with plenty of stops to rest, take bathroom breaks and get water. Manos our guide was really great! He was not only knowledgeable about the food but the history of Chania and Crete as well!

We had the best time! Great way to experience Chania. There were 5 of us and we started in the morning with some great coffee/tea and a delicious cheese phyllo pastry only made in Crete. We met our guide, Aria who was the best guide we’ve had on any tour. She was so knowledgeable, friendly and easy to communicate with. She catered our tour to our family. We experienced local shops and restaurants getting to try many delicious authentic Crete foods and learning about the different areas of the city, some history and some shopping areas. By the time we were finished we felt as though we had seen the best parts of the city and had tasted the foods that define the area. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite and would highly recommend Aria for this tour!!
