The Crown & The Crest: Uppsala Royal Legacy & Sigtuna’s Vikings

Description
This is a unique opportunity to combine two important ancient cities of Sweden, to hear the interesting story of your private guide on a comfortable car. Kick off with a visit to part medieval, part Gothic Uppsala Domkyrka, or Uppsala Cathedral. Inaugurated in 1435, Gothic re-styled in the 19th century, it is a must see/do in Uppsala. Gamla (Old) Uppsala, just north of the city, boasts impressive 6th century burial mounds and in its museum you can learn about the legend of the Svea kings and gory human sacrifices (kids love this bit). Go here for Gamla Uppsala Museum, Odinsborg restaurant and Disagården open-air museum. Sigtuna hugs the northern shores of Lake Mälaren and its cobblestone streets are arteries of the almost 1,000 year-old Stora gatan, or main street, with clusters of shops selling Swedish fashion, design and handicrafts.

The royal castle overlooks the town from its perch at Kasåsen and began life in 1549 at the behest of King Gustav Vasa, who built his fortified home in neat, symmetrical Renaissance style.
Today we can go back in time and visit medieval churches, ruins, castles and rune stones from the Viking Area. This is where Sweden begins.

Great day! Agnes our guide was wonderful! Gave us just the right amount of history and wonderful story telling. Thank you Eddie for getting us there safely! Perfect way to spend the afternoon!
My first trip to Stockholm. This was the best tour I have taken. Had the most amazing day in Sigtuna , Uppsala etc. I will definitely visit again.
I could not say enough good things about our tours. They even included some extra sites in our tours that we were not expecting that were fantastic.
Bruno was a very attentive, knowledgeable guide; ensuring my husband and I and the other group (as it was a private tour; but joins two groups on occasions) had there wishes met. The tour company should be thankful they have such a great employee representing their company.
We went out as a family if 3 with German to Uppsala and sigunta Herman was very knowledgeable abt the Swedish and Viking history we covered interesting land marks and hidden gems in both places overall a nice experience and a different perspective of sweden
