Pickup Locations & Times
Customers arriving by cruise ship will be collected directly at Argostoli Port. Our staff with signs "Avalon Travel" will be waiting at the Argostoli Cruise Ship Terminal. Holidaymakers staying in Kefalonia will be picked up from the listed hotels or designated meeting points. Please note that pick-up time may vary depending on the distance from Argostoli, and travel time from hotels outside Argostoli is not included in the tour duration.

- The boat ride inside Melissani Lake is shared with other visitors and lasts approximately 10–15 minutes.
- Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
- Total driving time during the tour is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
- For guests selecting a pick-up outside Argostoli, the additional transfer time to and from the starting point is not included in the tour duration and will be added to the overall experience.
- During the peak summer months of July and August, and especially on days when multiple cruise ships arrive at Argostoli Port, the caves can become extremely busy. This may result in longer waiting times and queues at the entrances, even with our best efforts to organize the visit efficiently and minimize delays.

Great trip! Tour guide was very informative and made the tour enjoyable. Queues at the 2nd stop, Melissani caves were long! Be prepared. A little Agro from other tourists as they didn’t realise our 1 x tour guide was representing 30 people. So when everyone suddenly joined the queue with the guide things kicked off a little and made everyone a little uncomfortable and unwelcome! Constuctive criticism would be to show on your sign how many people they are actually representing. Otherwise a great trip.

We found this agency as soon as we got off the cruise ship, and like many others, they offered daily excursions. It was a stroke of luck that among all of us, we chose them. MARIA (our guide) is a wonderful and accommodating person. During the visit to the cave, we had a misunderstanding that almost prevented us from visiting it; she, showing great kindness, waited for us, giving us the opportunity to visit it without making us feel any burden. Moreover, at the lake, while all the other agencies made their clients wait in line to buy tickets (under the sun for about an hour and a half), she had us wait comfortably in the shade while she stood in line for all of us. This alone is worth 10 stars.. thank you, thank you, thank you. Everything was beautiful.
Even the communication beforehand was great; they knew when the ship was arriving and were waiting for us at the harbor. Eva was an excellent guide, telling us a lot about the island and our excursion destinations in flawless German. Everything went smoothly.
Really loved this excursion! The caves and the lake are a must see! It did feel a bit rushed though it was a go,go,go type of deal. I’d recommend the tour operators do the lake first then the caves to give people more time at the caves and not be so rushed. Otherwise it’s a must do activity.
