Dont miss it. A wonderful experience.

Great experience of the old city. There is a lot of walking but the architecture and views are totally worth it. Maria was an outstanding tour guide. Kept us on schedule and provided good information and directions.

Outside of cobblestones and some stairways, this was an easy walk through the heart of the Tallinn Old Town.

Relaxed Overview of a Beautiful Baltic Capital

This was our first visit to Tallinn, and the tour gave us a nice overview of the city’s highlights. The Old Town was easy to explore and very photogenic. The guide was helpful in explaining key landmarks, though the experience felt more like a highlight tour than an in-depth historical journey. It’s a good option for cruise passengers wanting a simple and organized introduction.

Great First Impression of Tallinn’s Historic Center

This tour provides a solid introduction to Tallinn for first-time visitors arriving by cruise. The Old Town is definitely the highlight, with its preserved medieval architecture and lively squares. The itinerary is quite structured, but that helps ensure you see the main highlights in limited time. Free time is somewhat limited, but still enough for photos and a quick look around. Overall, it’s a good overview rather than a detailed exploration.

Solo Traveler – Easy, Safe, and Well-Organized Walk

As a solo traveler, I found this Tallinn shore excursion very easy to join and well-managed. Everything from port pickup to drop-off was clear and efficient. The walking tour of the Old Town was the main highlight. It felt safe and comfortable to explore, even on my own. The guide provided enough background to understand the city without overwhelming detail. It’s a practical option if you only have a few hours and want a structured introduction.

Not for mobility impaired or for those with health issues.

Extensive walking over rough cobblestone roads up incline and down inclines. Tour description is deceptive, no mention of walking the entire route, description indicates travel by coach ! Many in the group with mobility issues, canes and walkers had a miserable time trying to keep up either group. 1 in our party. Many said, as we also said, had they known, they would not have booked. Company states in their site that refunds would be given should a reasonable claim be given. I believe we just did!

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. That is exactly correct — this tour is not suitable for mobility-impaired guests or for those with health issues. The “Additional Info” section of the tour description clearly informs you of this. The centers of Florence and Pisa are pedestrian areas and can only be explored on foot. When booking future activities through Viator, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the tour description and listed restrictions rather than personal assumptions. Safe travels.

This tour started on a...

This tour started on a sour note, and went down hill from there. Our paperwork told us to meet outside the cruise terminal at 9:15am for a 9:30am departure. When we arrived at 9:15am, we were informed that our tour would not depart until 10:15am, as "the 1st bus is full and we needed to wait until it returns to the port." It was very cold, the wind was blowing, there was no cover, and the representative told us to "walk back to the port building and shop for a while. Once the bus returned to the terminal area, we finally headed to Old Town Tallinn. Here is where the tour got worse. There were a few people with walking issues (not my group) and they had trouble maneuvering the cobblestones which slowed everyone down. When we arrived at our stop between the Parliament building and a church, our tour guide, Alli, started explaining the area, however, with the number of guests in our group, we had extreme difficulty hearing her. After about 20 minutes of not hearing her well, I asked when we would be entering the church. Alli looked surprised that we wanted to go inside and said "I guess you can take a couple of minutes, but be quick so I can stay on schedule" At that time, my group told her we would be going off on our own as going into buildings was very important to us. Overall, this was a huge disappointment to all of us. Unless changes are made, I wouldn't recommend this tour. I would like a refund or a Viator credit due to the issues we had with this tour.

Operator response

We regret to hear about your disappointment, which appears to stem from an expectation of a private tour. Please allow me to address the concerns raised: 1. Please note that all private tours are clearly labeled as “PRIVATE” directly in the title and cost at least three times more in Tallinn. We do not use headsets for groups of 14 people, which, by international standards, is considered a small group rather than a large group tour. 2. In order to hear the guide properly, we recommend keeping pace with the group. The pace of a shared tour cannot be reduced to match the slowest participant. 4. The same section clearly informs guests that the tour start time may vary from the actual pickup time, which is communicated to customers in advance. 5. There is no admission included in this tour. Please take a closer look at the “What’s Included” section of the tour description. Your refund request has been respectfully declined. When booking future activities through Viator, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the tour description, itinerary, and inclusions rather than personal assumptions.
