Me and my partner had an awesome time and our guide ed was amazing!
When I first took jet boat rides in NZ I remember them to be really fun as we would skirt the rocks as we navigated shallow rivers. This tour had music that was way too loud, and too much g-force spinning and splashing that my five year old daughter was on the verge of tears and shivering at one point. After awhile the turns also felt tiresome and not fun anymore. It was on the website that there would be splash jackets we could use to keep ourselves drier but they were not available from the reception. There was also another young child that was crying after some of the spins. I think it’s ok for older children or adults but I recommend that you do not bring a young child to this tour.
Great fun, staff were great. Got a bit wetter than expected, thanks to Toby the No.1 jet boat captain.

10 out of 10! Very friendly and accommodating staff. Superb service. The boat driver, Toby, was magnificent. He explained the ride very well, including the do’s and don’ts. I will definitely do it again with my friends. Everything I read online was true the extreme ride is really wild! definitely did not make a mistake choosing Jetboat Extreme.
100% recommend, Despite the shocking conditions Captain Toby made sure the whole crew had a great experience. Originally wanted to back out due to weather, turns out it’s more fun when it’s raining! My face feels awesome.
