Had a great experience with Richard, the water is super warm and the waves are good for learning.
Richard was an amazing instructor. He was able to teach us the basics and allowed us get a feel for surfing. We were able to catch some waves and he even showed us how to paddle on our own. Definitely would book again!
So much fun! Santa Teresa is a major surf town, so taking lessons was a must do! Richard was amazing and helped my bf and I stand up and find success immediately
Great experience and the second trip where I’ve done lessons with Richard. He’s able to personalize the experience for you and unlike some instructors I’ve had elsewhere, he’s extremely patient, positive and constructive. 10/10 highly recommend whether you’re a beginner or intermediate
Great experience - we booked several days with Richard & were more than happy with him and his way of teaching us to surf. We booked a total of 3 days (I would recommend to anyone) & have made great progress. Richard is very focused on the technique and assists with each wave (if necessary). Funny, reliable and very ambitious can still be added - all in all highly recommended & a great experience!
We’ve booked lessons 4 times now with Richard over our 3 trips for Santa Teresa. He’s a great instructor and very patient. He’s also just FUN to be around. Would highly recommend!
Really cool and knowledgeable surf instructors. The perfect mix of fun and success! After a brief introduction and some theory, we got right into the action. Thanks to clear instructions and helpful tips, I was up on the board after just a few tries and was able to ride my first waves.

I was with my two athletic 12 year old twins. Richardo was my instructor; he helped me and one other adult. A second instructor had my kids. My kids killed it, switching out front foot multiple times during one wave. The other guy and I did great. We’re not exactly children. Both of us had multiple good runs on the waves. Ricardo had a fun and supportive attitude.
Richard explained everything very clearly. He was in a great mood and was always willing to help. It was really funny, a lot of fun, and I highly recommend it.
