Sunset Train Ride
Description
The train ride is the most popular in Curitiba and the region! Set aside a day for the tour and enjoy it. In the morning you will visit Antonina, a friendly little historic port town and then go to friendly Morretes, famous for its gastronomy and the Nhundiaquara River. Typical lunch included in one of the best restaurants in Morretes and free time to walk through the picturesque streets there. In the afternoon, return by train from Morretes to Curitiba. You will pass through a railway with incredible landscapes and a lot of history. It takes approximately 4 hours on the train up Serra do Mar, through the largest preserved area of the Atlantic Forest in Brazil. You will pass through tunnels and bridges and the guides will tell you a little about the challenge of building this railway between 1880 and 1885. To this day it is an engineering masterpiece! The train category is tourist, which has a guide only in Portuguese. The van guide also only speaks Portuguese.

The journey normally takes place via the historic Estrada da Graciosa, unless the road is under construction or it is raining a lot.
You will have a scenic tour of the city of Antonina, usually with a stop at the Bananina banana candy factory and the historic center of Antonina to explore.
You will have free time in Morretes to walk around the small town of Morretes. See the Nhundiaquara River, the Main Church, the fair with typical products, the colonial houses and the craft and local product stores.
A typical lunch is included and you will have the typical menu of the region in a restaurant overlooking the Nhundiaquara River, considered one of the best in Morretes. The typical dish is "barreado", a beef stew served with cassava flour, rice and banana. As side dishes you will have fish, shrimp and salad. Drinks and desserts are not included and are payable according to consumption.
Arrive at 2:30 pm at Morretes Railway Station to board the train to climb Serra do Mar. A tour full of nature: you will cross the largest area of preserved Atlantic Forest in Brazil and pass through tunnels and bridges. The railway was built between 1880 and 1885 and was considered an engineering masterpiece of the time. The category included in the tour is tourist, which has cushioned seats, a guide in Portuguese and includes a simple snack (cookies) and 1 water or soft drink per person. The journey normally takes 4 hours and arrival in Curitiba is scheduled for 7pm. Delays and cancellations may occur due to technical issues with the railway. Essential you know! The train arrival time in Curitiba and also the sunset time vary for different reasons. The tour has that name, but we cannot guarantee that you will see the sunset during the tour.

We came to Curitiba for the tour and it was all great! The convenience of the Transfer, the tours before the train, lunch and the guide were great. We came in the cabin and the care of Junia was great. The trip is a delight, with beautiful views and even with closed time, the sun appeared! I recommend!
