Taj Mahal An immense mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, the Taj Mahal is the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage. Sunrise is by far the best time to visit the Taj Mahal. Not just because the early morning light turns the dome of the temple a soft, golden color, but because this is the time when there are the least amount of tourists, and if you get in early enough, you might even get some perfect portraits with no people in them. There’s also something magical about watching the sunrise behind the Taj Mahal, a building that symbolizes one of the greatest true love stories ever told. I’m sure other times of day can be nice too, and if you’re traveling to the Taj Mahal with kids, for example, getting up at the crack of dawn might not be an option.
The fort is separated from its sister monument, the Taj Mahal, by just 2.6 kilometers. Often described as a walled city, Agra Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Today, the fort is a major tourist spot and attracts many tourists from all over the world. Agra Fort is known for its rich history.
Baby Taj or Itimad-ud-Daulah is a tomb that was built by the mother of Shah Jahan. It has a very delicate architectural beauty. The marble lattice structures in this monument are the highlight. You can find exotic Persian-style gardens around the tomb.
Mehtab Bagh is a charbagh complex in Agra, North India. It lies north of the Taj Mahal complex and the Agra Fort on the opposite side of the Yamuna River, in the flood plains. Its pretty gardens make an atmospheric place to wander with the sun setting in the background. The atmosphere is enhanced by the view of the Taj Mahal, which is aligned with the gardens here, and you can see the very beautiful view of the sunset at the Taj Mahal. After the Mughal time, this place was used as a Moonlight garden and Mehtab, meaning Moonlight.

At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at the same location or any other location within Agra, according to your preference.

Jitu was a very experienced and thoughtful guide. He is local to Agra. He took us around multiple spots and also helped us take photos and learn a lot about the history along with fun gems about different hidden views and spots. Very memorable!

I ear so far very happy with Viator but this tour went down in the pants.The tour should have taken place sm Freitsg December 12. The problem was that the Taj Mahal is closed on Friday.Only faithful resident Muslems have access on Friday. I was contacted about it by the Local Agency India Bon Voyage.On Thursday afternoon at 3pm they came to my hotel and made me a new proposal. at 3.30pm I went with the guide to the Taj Mahal and the next day we visited the a n places that were still on the progress. The following day was a visit to Sikri on the program.The whole thing was of course not free I paid for these two days still about 120.oo francs and it was worth jden franc. 2 days on the road with driver and private guide. But will book Viator again and again in the future
Our guide Jitu was amazing and took such great photos! He really knew all the best places and angles and had lots of facts about the places we visited! Gurmeet was our driver and the pride he took in his job was palpable. His vehicle was pristinely maintained and he provided snacks, masks, cough drops, and was very flexible with us. I will be contacting him for all our needs for the rest of our trip and will be recommending him to anyone I know travelling to India.

We had a great time with Jitu and Gurmeet. They showed us the city, and took the time to bring us wherever we needed to go. The stores they showed us were clean and well organized and they made sure we felt safe. They took may great photos for our memories. Their English was great and we had no trouble communicating.

Jitu was a very responsive guide. He accommodated all of our requests. His communication skills regarding timing and availability were consistently excellent. When we discovered the Taj was closed on Fridays, and because we had an early morning train on Saturday, he arranged for us to see the Taj upon opening on Saturday morning. As advertised, he was available for us as we wished the entire time. He took us to a lovely inexpensive restaurant with excellent food for lunch and I had a very nice non-veg thali for $3.00. He accommodated our every request to the best of his ability. I can recommend him highly.
