So disappointing! We booked a 4hour cooking class in a private home, but it ended up being a 2 hour tour of a cheese cave. In addition, we booked something in Stresa, but the address was actually in Adona, so that was a 120 euro taxi ride. Looking at the message, it clearly said it was a cheese tour but didn’t notice that until too late to cancel. The cheese tour was interesting, but not something I would have chosen to do. Was really looking forward to the cooking class.
This was a lovely cooking class in the home of a local couple. I didn't realise til I was there that I had a private class, and it was such a treat. I had the opportunity to practice speaking Italian and make a couple of dishes - ravioli, tagliatelle and tiramisu.
Highly recommended! We felt very welcomed from the beginning. Cozy place, great hosts and so nice experience making delicious Italian food!
I would highly recommend this experience if you are travelling in this area of Italy. Gabriella and her husband were so welcoming and friendly. It was a pleasure to be in their company. I learnt how to make bruschetta, ravioli, tagliatelle and tirimisu all from scratch. We then sat down and ate and drank together. Wouldn't have missed it. Thank you so much both of you. Saluti !!
They were so friendly and made our class very fun. The food was amazing and the conversation was even better. Would highly recommend!
Gabriella was great! This is fun concept. Home cooks invite you into their homes. Then they teach you to cook. We prepared appetizers and rolled pasta for ravioli. We also made tiramisu. Then, we all sit down and eat the food we prepared together and learn about their lives.
Gabriella was delightful and we loved our class! Highly recommend while visiting Stresa! That said, be very mindful of the many emails that are sent. There are multiple addresses in the initial confirmation emails and navigating to the link with the actual location of the host's home was a bit confusing. I only took a star away due to that. The class and our host Gabriella was 5 stars!!!
Rare, authentic, and precious opportunity to cook with and learn from the lovely Gisela. Incredible food and even better company. Overall, a truly wonderful, intimate experience.
My wife and I looked at the weather forecast for Stresa and saw three days of straight rain. With that in mind, we sought something indoor and found this cooking experience. We are glad we did. Gisella welcomed us into her home and we immediately got busy making dessert, spinach pasta for our main course, and then an appetizer. It was so fun making the pasta (and who knew I was so GOOD at it!) Then we sat down to eat. As Gisella cooked the pasta and finished the sauce, we enjoyed the appetizer and some bread and wine. But the pasta was to die for! Delicious! As we finished the pasta, we were joined by Gisella's husband, who declared our pasta delicious! Gisella, a photojournalist, documented out experience and sent us pictures of our wonderful, exceptional experience. Grazie mille, Gisella!
My wife and I enjoy unique experiences when we travel. Being invited into a local’s home to cook and chat was very special for us. Gisela was a wonderful hostess. She said most people want to make Pasta, but we asked about one day out for ravioli’s. She has premade the veal pate that would be the meat for the raviolis. But we did almost all the rest of the prep under her supervision. Her home was walking distance from our hotel on the main strip in Stresa. It was just a wonderful evening. Highly recommend this event.
