Your day will start by meeting our local and friendly tour guide. With him you will be headed to the first stop in the best place for food tours in Cartagena: The Walled City. As you walk around you will have several stops to try the best of Cartagena and Caribbean typical flavors. From fruits to shrimp cocktails, deep-fried snacks, typical sweets and coffee or beer.
Some of the things you can try are: Arepa with egg. Arepa is one of the most traditional Colombian plates, eaten almost everywhere in the country in lots of different versions. In the Caribbean coast, this corn-based tortilla is usually deep fried and stuffed with a tasty egg. You will also visit local food stands and try shrimp cocktail or carimañola: a very typical yucca and cheese finger food.
If you’re craving for something sweet, you’ll also have cocadas, a sort of cookie made from dried coconut or typical fruits. But there are many other options of traditional sweets and candies. And of course, try a cup of nice high-quality coffee or have cold and refreshing beer before ending the tour.

Carlos was fantastic!! We got to meet him right on time, and walked Getsemani and the walled city. Got a lot of knowledge about history of the area and the food we ate, and he was able to keep my 15 year old son very engaged the whole time as well! Because it was private we had some flexibility in some of the things we got to ask about and see. The food was incredible, his history knowledge was incredible and he was so kind and thoughtful throughout the whole time. We even sent him some messages after we departed asking for help and he immediately provided recommendations and advice.
Nic was AMAZING!! He was so sweet and an absolute pleasure. The places we stopped to get food was so delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Be careful rip-off! Guide does not appear at the agreed location. Should be the cruise terminal. After 2 phone calls she is assured she has sent a car, which did not come I then sent my location via WhatsApp. 30 minutes later. If a message came back she would have been waiting for us for over an hour (!) and therefore cancel the appointment and wish us a nice day. Very unfair than that big the terminal is not there and to miss yourself there was almost impossible. I don't think she was there. So please be careful. Because holidays are precious

Fabulous tour with Mario. We enjoyed the best of the walled old city of Cartagena and Getsamani. Great commentary offered by Mario throughout. We were able to capture beautiful street photography, saw sloths and monkeys, and enjoyed local flavors of food and life. Prompt air-conditioned transportation from and to the cruise ship pier, with time to spare. Highly recommend this delightful tour and guide Mario!

Fabian was very nice and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the tour and love his enthusiasm. We were disappointed in the number of food tasting.s. The arepa and the ceviche were great as was the juice. The dessert was tasty but we expected much more food. No cafe or Cerveza either. The trip ended abruptly after a visit to an emerald shop. Not sure what had to do with a food tour. The tour was less than 3 hours. Not quite how it was advertised and for the price.
