Walking through the market. We would have gotten lost without his excellent guidance. We were able to move at our own pace.
We made a last minute booking and Khamis (Giklik) was kind enough to accommodate our request. He was on time to meet us at our hotel. He knows Stone Town inside out and also in-depth history of Zanzibar. It was a quick (2.5 hours) and informative history lesson. He also knows the history of the old buildings (which ones were previously embassies etc). His tour is neither flash nor patronising. If you want a well dressed guide who only tells you all the good things about Stone Town then Khamis (Giklik) is not your guy. He is a down-to-earth guide who shows/tells the good, the bad and the ugly sides of Stone Town. He'll take you to stinky local markets and not-so-clean back alleys, so that you can get the real local experience. Isn't that what we all want from a real local walking tour? Be sure to give him a generous tip at the end of your tour.
All very well organised, made arrangements via whatsapp before dept with agreement to pay after tour. Pick up was there one hour earlier than agreed but no problem thru just waited for us at reception without any add cost. Giklik was guide and had driver next to him. He showed us stone town, gave a lot of detailed info (if too much, we could stop him), visited places where other tourists without guide would never come. Very polite person who wants to make his business grow which is not easy in Zanzibar after Covid. For sure would recommend him Guests from Belgium
Giklik is an excellent tour guide. He is helpful, and communicating with him via WhatsApp for a tour booking or even when visiting Zanzibar is simple.
A well prepared and super friendly guide who became a friend along the way. He was so well-versed in the history of Zanzibar and it’s surrounds, we learnt so much on our journey.
Everything was well and astounding. Keep going Mr. Khamis. Your friend Vijay from India. All the best.
Excellent guide on our Zanzibar holiday, covered us on all aspects throughout our tour as well as to and from Airport. Been a pleasure
An excellent guide. Patient, very well prepared, always ready to answer our questions, a smiling man. A perfect trip with him.
We had a great time exploring Zanzibar with Kamis - he was super friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make the trip unforgettable! He always had an interesting fun fact in store to amaze us and show a different side of Zanzibar only the locals can see!
The trip exceeded any and all expectations, Kamis was a great guide, super nice and eager to share fascinating information about the island and its culture and history. Kamis went above and beyond to make the trip unforgettable for us and I wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone visiting Zanzibar!
