Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island, is located off the coast of Stone Town in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Here's a brief overview: History: Originally intended for use as a prison for rebellious slaves in the 1860s, it was never used for that purpose. Instead, it became a quarantine station for yellow fever cases. Giant Tortoises: The island is famous for its population of Aldabra giant tortoises, originally a gift from the Seychelles. Visitors can interact with and feed these impressive creatures. Coral Reefs: The surrounding waters are known for their vibrant coral reefs, making it a popular spot for snorkeling and diving. Beaches and Nature: Aside from the tortoises, Prison Island offers picturesque beaches and a nature trail for those who enjoy exploring the natural surroundings.

We booked a private tour for visiting Stone Town, from our hotel and we had a private guide and a private car that took us from the hotel on the opposite side of Zanzibar island to visit Stone Town. We payed Prison Island, Stone Town, the Slave Exhibition and the transfer by boat together. Stone Town is a jewellery of ancient mixed style architecture, that you can find all over the small narrow streets. The city has something like a special vibe. I saw it that way. We visited the local fruit and fish market and tasted their sweet, creamy baby bananas, and smelled spices also visited The Slaves Exhibition monument and Anglican Church together with Freddy Mercury Museum. Over all I recommend to visit with urban tours and Safaris
