St Simon Monastery ,Cave Church , Garbage City and Coptic Cairo Private day tour

Great tour of the raw and wonderful part of Egypt that most do not see. Coptic Cairo below ground was peaceful and historic with old photographs of what Egypt use to look like, a fabulous souvenir store with higher quality items than those found elsewhere and no incessant pressure to buy so you could actually enjoy shopping. The Hanging Church set upon Roman ruins was interesting and the grotto church inside Garbage City was astounding as was the story of its origin. Our Egyptologist did a good job, was personable and stayed on task so that we were retuned to our hotel in a timely manner for dinner despite Cairo's 24 hr rush hour. We took the 2 pm tour.

Garbage city is not for the faint hearted. Very smelly, crowded and an experience you’ll never forget. Seems out of this world.

We had an excellent experience with our guide/driver Mr Rafat. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and kind throughout the entire trip. He made everything smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable. I truly appreciate his patience and the care he showed. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and outstanding guide.

We booked this trip the morning that we actually went and the guys pulled it together for us on such short notice. We had Maged driving us who was on the ball and we felt totally safe in the somewhat chaotic Cairo traffic. Our guide Ehab was not only knowledgeable about everything we saw, but was also very enthusiastic about what he was showing us. I honestly believe this man knows everyone in Cairo. Overall a very interesting and enjoyable day out, and the guys made us feel very safe and comfortable.

Very informative trip, good mix of history and today's reality with a good duration of stops for the different locations. The vast souvenir shop near the old churches has something for every taste, the prices are very steep. We ended up buying nothing. The spice shop was very good, the salesman there smarter and more flexible. The Cave Church and the garbage recycling neighborhood were most impressive to us. Do not miss! Our guide, Beshoy, is very reliable, professional, on-time, kind and patient. He knows the city inside out, mastering the hellatious traffic with ease. Highly recommended. We booked the half-day trip one hour before it was supposed to start - no problem. Were given the guide's contact right away per WhatsApp and communicated over this app. Worked great. Excellent trip to Coptic Cairo. Went places that our cruise bus couldn’t go. Garbage City was eye opening, just don’t open the windows. The cave church was the most peaceful place we visited in Egypt. Shady was an amazing driver in a crazy road system. Ehab was very knowledgeable and answered every question we had. Also an interesting stop at a perfumer.

The driver and guide were extremely nice. The guide covered everything on the schedule and provided us with interesting facts. However, the tour itself did not take 4 hrs and we were then taken to a series of shops/markets and spent quite some time there. This is an excellent addition if this is what you want or have asked for.

The tour was excellent. It was informative and interesting. The driver was polite, always greeting us and opening the doors for us. The guide was amazing. I highly recommend her. She allowed us time to explore and told us everything about the history and culture of each place we visited. She was so lovely, professional and knowledgeable. We could not have asked for more.

Awesome areas to check out in Cairo. Ehab was an incredible guide, he spoke fast but in a way that's easy to follow, just the right pace for my liking, and was very informative. Maged was a great driver, always right back to where we needed to be picked up to continue.
