Located a few kilometres from the city of Galle, the Japanese Peace Pagoda is a unique shrine that guarantees peace and solitude to anyone who visits. Built by the Japanese Nipponzan-Myōhōji order in 2005, it was made as a symbol to promote peace in the island. A short hike to the summit of the Rumassala Hill and you’ll find yourself in awe of the pristine pagoda. Koggala Lake is one of the biggest natural lakes in Sri Lanka. A number of islands are scattered in the lake among which the Temple Island, Modol Doova, Bird Island and the Cinnamon island. The lake is rich in birdlife and mangroves and is the perfect place to explore by boat! *** Includes driving time and lunch

The Wewurukannala Vihara temple is one of the most impressive Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka. An image of a 160 ft high seated Buddha dominates the temple site and dates back to King Rajadhi 1782 – 1798. *** Includes driving time back to the hotel
