Itinerary
Trogir is a UNESCO World Heritage town known for its beautiful mix of history and charm. Founded more than 2,000 years ago, it has seen Greeks, Romans, and Venetians all leave their mark. The old town sits on a small island, linked by bridges, and is perfect for exploring on foot. Its narrow stone streets, hidden courtyards, and small squares create a special atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time. At the heart of Trogir stands the Cathedral of St. Lawrence, famous for its 13th-century portal carved by Master Radovan. The palm-lined waterfront is another highlight, with cafés, boats, and the Kamerlengo Fortress offering wonderful views of the sea and town. Though compact, Trogir is truly unforgettable.
Diocletian’s Palace is the heart of Split and one of the most remarkable Roman monuments in the world. Built around 305 AD by the Roman emperor Diocletian as his retirement residence, the palace is more like a small city than a single building. Within its massive walls you’ll find a maze of narrow streets, lively squares, and centuries of history layered together. Highlights include the Peristyle, once the ceremonial courtyard; the Cathedral of St. Domnius, originally Diocletian’s mausoleum; and the underground cellars, which give you a sense of the palace’s original scale. Today the palace is still alive, filled with shops, cafés, and homes. Walking through it feels like stepping into living history — where the Roman past meets the everyday life of Split.

We had a great time on our Split and Trogir tour during our port day in Split, Croatia. Our tour guide, Judita, was excellent. She was very fun. She had a lot of fun facts and information about the area and really did a great job showing us the two locations. We had plenty of time in both locations and still had free time in Spilt to catch a meal, do some shopping or just sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I highly recommend this tour

The pick up was flawless. Our guide was the best of all of our excursions this trip. He was knowledgeable, clever, funny and most importantly, easy to understand. Trogir was a beautiful city and the highlights pointed out by our guide made us want to come back. Split was a great experience as well, despite or guide leaving us behind at the golden gate, we were easily able to rejoin the group with help of the company contacting him. He was able to return us to the ship so we didn’t have to make the long walk back
Thank you for your fantastic review! We're so pleased to hear that your day in Split and Trogir was one of the highlights of your cruise. It's wonderful to know your guide's knowledge, humor, and easy-to-follow storytelling made the experience so enjoyable, and that Trogir tempted you to plan a return visit! Even the best adventures sometimes include an unexpected plot twist! 😊 Thank you for spending your port day with us. Next time, we'll make sure the only thing left behind is your desire to go home! Thank you again for joining us, and we hope your travels bring you back to Croatia one day. - Silvio, owner of Time Travel Split
The Viator meeting instructions were excellent, and the guides were very easy to find at the port. Communication before the tour was clear and made for a stress-free start. We visited Trogir first, followed by Split. Trogir is a pleasant town to explore, with narrow stone streets and a scenic waterfront. There had been wildfires on a nearby island the night before, but that did not impact our visit. The itinerary included about an hour of free time in Trogir, which felt like more than we needed. I would have preferred a shorter stop there and to have been dropped off a little closer to the cruise port on the return. In Split, the guided walk through Diocletian's Palace (visiting all gates) provided a good overview of the history before free time to explore independently. It was interesting to see how the ancient Roman palace has become part of the modern city, with restaurants, shops, and homes integrated throughout the historic walls. Our tour ended up with only two guests, so it felt like a private tour. Judita and Silvio were generous with their time, enjoyable to talk with, and happy to answer questions throughout the day without making the experience feel rushed.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review! We're delighted to hear that everything, from the meeting instructions to the tour itself, made for a relaxed and enjoyable day ashore. We're especially pleased that, with such a small group, you were able to enjoy a more personal experience. Having the opportunity to ask questions, take your time, and enjoy genuine conversations is often what turns a good tour into a memorable one. We always appreciate hearing our guests' perspectives as they help us continue improving our tours. While your visit may have been "A Split Second," we hope Croatia made a lasting impression and that we'll have the pleasure of welcoming you back for a much longer stay next time. 😊 - Silvio, owner of Time Travel Split
