Tour company cancelled the tour lunch time on the day of my afternoon half day tour without explanation. I had a bad feeling when i booked it although they accepted the booking then immediately afterwards asked me to change the booking to the morning as they had other commitments but if i had wanted a morning tour I would have booked the morning option. If they couldn’t do the tour then they should not have accepted my booking in the first place. Luckily i was able to book with an alternate company.
Get to smell taste and see all the spice trees and plants. With great stories told by the guides. Nice walk that's just off the hustle and bustle but feels like you in the middle of the forest with a canopy covering you in silence with just nature and paths swept clean with chickens rustling about and a pig or goat to entertain you every now and again. We had a great guide who climbed up the trees to pick coconuts and other fruits and made beautiful Natural Jewellery out of the leaves and flowers. Do support and buy as most locals depend solely on the tips etc. Loved this experience alot.
Mohamed was a very knowledgeable guide and knew a lot about the uses of the herbs in medicine. We were shown many rare spices and it was very interesting to see how and where these spices grew. A very hospitable team who gave us coconuts and an assortment of fruit, with an opportunity to buy some spices. Would highly recommend this tour.
Very nice trip. Recommend. Guides are friendly, punctual, ready to answer our questions. We saw many interesting plants trees. They explained about all the plants. Gave us enough time for photos and videos. Special thank to the guys who made crowns and bracelets out of plants.
I enjoyed being a client of Suncoast for sure. I did two tours but started with the Spice Tour. My guide picked me up on time and drive me to one of the farms as he explained local history and how the spice farms came to be. We walked through the farm and he,for the most part explained every spice we came through and had a local get them for me for tasting and touching. The same local makes a crown of leaves for female clients, very touristy but I didn't mind. Part of the tour involves tasting fruits and this was the best part for me for sure. Some of the best tasting fruits of my life and yet I am African (Kenyan) My two points of critique are this, I understand Swahili and at some point my guide negotiated with the local, skipping some parts because he was tired, he didn't raise this point with me though. I paid for a full tour and that is what I expected. Second, at the fruit tasting and the palm tree climbing you are nudged to give a tip, I am not against this but I was surprised since I had almost zero cash on me (all on my card) please do something about this. All in all I enjoyed the experience and please note there is a chance to buy local soaps, perfumes and the spices themselves at the end of the tour. My guide was good and he made sure I was constantly hydrated. Very thoughtful. Tour price can be negotiated as well. Suncoast comes highly recommended.
Honesty these guys booked us an ocean coast beach resort-Coconut Tree Village in the village which was ideal for our honeymoon...the sun was scotching high in Zanzibar. We really enjoyed the the time we spent on this highland. Thanks to Suncoast Zanzibar tours.
