Itinerary
Our first stop is Kidichi persian baths. This site was built on the highest point of Zanzibar Island by Sultan Seyyid Said , it was for his wife who was the grand-daughter of the Shah of Persia, Fatah Ali, it is decorated in ornamental Persian stucco work. The remarkably preserved baths have a series of domed bathhouses with deep stone baths and massive seats. This is quite a contrast to the plain baths nearby at Kizimbani, which were built within Said’s clove tree and coconut plantation. We shall proceed with our tour with a drive through a profusion of greenery in the countryside seeing, smelling and tasting a variety of spices and mouthwatering tropical seasonal fruits such as jack fruit, pineapple, banana, green coconut juice, dourian, love apple, litche, soursop etc. Spices such as cloves, cardamon, cinnamon, black pepper, turmeric, nutmeg etc A full tour involves much more than spices and you will also have a chance to see the iodine plant, heena bush, ylang-ylang and many more

I felt cornered into an expensive private tour because of my misunderstanding of not needing to sign up for 1 adult AND 1 senior. Guide was not terribly attentive, distracted by other conversations using his head phones. Quite frankly, one of the employees at the spice farm was far more informative, creative, and engaged than the guide who added very little to the prescribed excursion. I was under the impression that I would be visiting the farm that received rave reviews. I would have preferred to be informed as to why that farm was selected. ahead of time so I could appreciate its uniqueness more fully.
Absolutely recommend doing a spice farm tour when in Zanzibar. Learned alot and a whole more appreciation for the spices and flavours I come across day to day, This tour and guide was very knowledgable and relaxed and enjoyable at the same time. Thumbs up from me.
