Itinerary
• Get into an exciting caving tour of natural interest by UNESCO in La Palma. • You will learn the secrets that Cueva de las Palomas hides. • You will be leaded by an expert guide. Declared as a place of natural interest by UNESCO, and as a natural monument by the Government of the Canary Islands, making it part of the Canary Network of Protected Natural Spaces. The Cueva de Las Palomas cave was formed as a result of the volcanic eruption of San Juan Volcano in 1949. It has more than 10 openings that provide natural light at different points of the route, being some of these former fumaroles through which there were lava and hot sulphurous gases leaking during the formation of the tube. The tube’s dimension is around 3 meters wide per 560 meters length approximately. Its scientific interest is eminently geological and is increased by its biological importance since it hosts a peculiar fauna of invertebrates.

Super informative and fascinating. We went almost 600 meters into the cave and saw lots of cool formations.
I visited with my parter. They booked it I had no idea what to expect. I was nervous as the start as it’s all a little overwhelming not knowing what we were doing as I thought I was just going to the visitors centre, not walking over the bridges and into the tunnel which was fantastic, the tour guide was AMAZING. She spoke to us all and was really friendly, it didn’t feel like a lesson but I learnt so much. She didn’t rush us or act like she was on a time limit it was our own experience and I really enjoyed it. You seriously do get really good value for money and a life memory. I would highly recommend. Small group as well with maximum of 12 people.
A very interesting story. Very good guide. Told a lot about the origin, what we saw during the trip. Told in a very nice way
Very interesting visit on volcanoes and more specifically on the volcanic eruption of 2021.
It was a really cool experience. Our guide was very friendly and super enthousiastic. The tunnel was beautiful to visit and we learned a lot!
The experience and guide were great. The volcanic tube itself lived up to expectations. Took me a bit of time to find the meeting point but followed the directoons on the app
Mario was a great interactive guide in the lava tubes. Well worth a visit if you want to learn about the the volcanic history of the area from a locals point of view.
The tour was very interesting and our guide made it very entertaining. for the part outside the cave necessarily bring a hat, it was very hot on the lava field
A fascinating tour through the cave.. Our guide, Angel was excellent, explaining the processes of volcanic eruptions in a clear and, and at sometimes amusing manners. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work. 👏
Our knowledgeable guide (Mario) told us practically everything about the volcanic activity in La Palma, especially the 2021 eruption. The lava tube visit was extraordinary - I strongly recommend to take this tour!
