Snorkel San Diego's Mission Bay with a Marine Biologist

This was a nice little activity! Matt was super informative and it was just long enough to see cool critters without spending too much time in the water and getting too cold. The wetsuits from House of Scuba were worth renting (although my zipper had a little issue) and kept me warm enough.

Matt is very knowledgeable and found things we would not have seen otherwise. He is very patient and a great teacher. It was a great experience for my family and he made sure everyone was comfortable in the water. My husband, who isn't a confident swimmer, said it was the best part of our trip.

Great time exploring underwater Mission Bay! We saw lots of creatures and Matt made the experience fun and engaging as well as pointing out sea life not to be missed. He provided great info about gear rental and made the experience great as soon as we booked. Would highly recommend doing by yourself or with family/friends.

Great experience! Me and my party were in the water for one hour and saw sea slugs, sea urchins, starfish, and lots of different fish! Matt would calmy guide us through how to swim with our flippers and use our snorkels. This is a fantastic snorkel experience for beginners like me. I really enjoyed learning about the Mission Bay ecosystem through our guides' expertise; he's a great teacher. The water was exceptionally clear and the current was smooth. We went at the end of November and with a wetsuit on, it was totally worth it!

We booked with Matt for a snorkel family adventure. He was incredible helping our kids during their first time snorkeling. I felt fully prepared because of Matt’s superb communication. I’d highly recommend booking with Matt! This is our second time with him!

I truly enjoyed this snorkel tour given it was my first time snorkeling 🤿 🤎. I had been prepping myself a bit for it (practicing with the mask and such), but he did such a thorough run through I think if you’ve never even touched snorkel gear, you’d be in good hands, and the time to practice in shallow water was very helpful. I loved being able to have an intimate tour verses some of the other ones offered at different locations. You feel taken care of, and can really go at a pace that is comfortable because of the location (mine was at Mission Bay). Got a chance to see some wildlife with Matt; some of which I would’ve missed because I’m not sure what to look for 😌 Excellent tour! Will definitely want to book with him again and check out more of what’s in the water 🤗🤗!

I had such a great time snorkeling with Matt! He’s a Marine Biologist, and his knowledge made the entire experience so much more interesting — I learned so much about the local marine life while we explored. The location was beautiful, the gear was in great condition, and everything felt very safe and well-organized. For the price, this was an incredible value. It felt like a personal, educational adventure rather than just a quick tourist activity. I’d highly recommend this to anyone visiting San Diego or even locals who want to see their ocean in a whole new way.

We had so much fun. Matt was very funny and knowledgeable about all the marine life we saw. We will definitely do this again with Matt when we go back to San Diego. Had a great time.

It was a great snorkeling trip! Matt took good care of the group and showed us many different kinds of animals! Among other things, a small octopus, various fish, shells and sea slugs. It was perfect for getting to know the water and the place and Matt was very educational and knowledgeable about the different animals we saw. Recommend!
