It dates back to the 16th century and depicts the Buddha at the time of achieving nirvana. Positioned atop Kulen Mountain, the site is both a major pilgrimage destination and a place of natural beauty—visitors climb a staircase to reach the sheltered statue and often pause at nearby Buddha’s footprints and elephant-flanked naga balustrades.
