Small Group Tour: Grand Canyon West Rim, Skywalk & Hoover Dam

We had a great time visiting The Grand Canyon, Skywalk and Hoover Dam in this 10 hour excursion. Pick up time & location were notified two days before and perfectly on time right outside our hotel on the day. Ward, our guide for the day, was extremely personable and very knowledgeable. He provided a great commentary as we took the roughly 2.5 hour drive to Grand Canyon, stopping for a quick coffee break along the way. The Skywalk experience itself was great. We arrived early, no queuing to speak of and had a light lunch in the Skywalk Restaurant at Eagle Point, before moving on to Guano point for more amazing views of the canyon. We returned to the Grand Canyon terminal and headed back to Las Vegas, picking up Hoover Dam on the way back. Ward organised a quick stop at the Hoover Dam Hotel for a comfort break before driving down to the dam itself. We drove across the dam and stopped for a great photo opportunity at one of the parking areas above the dam. Then we walked across the dam itself, whilst Ward went back around the one way circuit to pick us up at the other side. Ward always gave us time to visit the gift shops or have water or a restroom break and pick up a snack throughout the day. He was very mindful of our comfort and ensuring the group got to see and do everything they wanted to. I’d recommend One Day Tours for this excursion, Ward was excellent, kept us entertained and comfortable with cool water always on hand. 10/10

Ward was our tour guide and he was exceptional. He was knowledgeable and very accommodating. The tour took approximately 10 hours but following Ward’s instructions gave us ample time at the skywalk, guano and eagle points, time to sit and have a wonderful Native American lunch and time to visit the Hoover Dam. We couldn’t stay more than 10 minutes outside to view the Hoover Fam because it was 115 degrees out there. Everyone on the tour was punctual so we were always on time. We headed back towards Las Vegas around 3:45pm. We got to meet some really special people today. This is an experience that created memories that will last a lifetime.

Great experience using One day tours and Ward. Our kids are 13 and 7 and it was an easy trip for them. Ward dropped some knowledge and funny stories along the drive and definitely streamlined everything and the best things to see while there.

Ward was such a great driver and very knowledgeable about the trip and answered many questions we had along the way….very pleasant drive and with all the water offered made us feel very comfortable even though it was over 100 degree weather……very pleased with the whole trip

Best decision to pick this trip! Communication (call and text) pre-trip was helpful. Our guide Steve picked us up at our hotel just as expected and kept us ahead of the crowds all day. Price for your experience is right on the money. We were never rushed and still had time to see everything we wanted while still relaxing a bit for lunch. Steve offered details during the drive and answered questions. The van was comfortable, cool AC, plenty of room, comfy seats and plenty of cold water during the day.

Excellent service from One Day Tours, Matt was our chauffeur and historical guide through Nevada history, Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. The ride was smooth and the atmosphere was friendly. This is a drop off tour, Matt took us to Grand Canyon West, gave us clear directions on what to do with the shuttles when we got there and we were on our own. GCW was amazing but people beware there is little to no boundaries from the cliffs especially at Guano point. You need to have some maturity and dexterity to do the entire hike. It’s not a place to let the kids roam free. The Sky Walk was fun and the food was good. I see prices for this tour at lower rates but those may not include admission and meals. Ours was the premium package and also included coupons at gift shops. It was nice to have everything prepaid. Overall Matt was terrific and kept us smiling in the heat and it is a trip we won’t soon forget!
