Then set off to The Independence Monument in Sihanoukville, built in 1985, honors Cambodia's independence and those who sacrificed their lives in past conflicts. Located on Ekareach Street between the city center and Victory Hill, it sits within a small park. Next to the monument is a shrine used for religious festivals. Featuring a lotus-shaped stupa in traditional Khmer style, it serves as a symbol of national pride and a key landmark for visitors.

30 min

And continue to Tomnub Rolork - Koh Preap Pier in Sihanoukville is a busy fishing port that offers visitors a glimpse into local maritime life. It is a key hub for fishermen and is often featured in tours showcasing the region's culture and economy. While it lacks tourist facilities, the pier's authentic atmosphere makes it a fascinating spot to explore. Visitors should be cautious due to limited infrastructure, but it remains a valuable site for experiencing Sihanoukville's fishing heritage.

60 min

Test your bargain skill at Phsar Leu Market. It also known as Sihanoukville Market, is a lively hub in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, where visitors can experience local daily life. The market offers a wide selection of fresh produce, seafood, meats, and spices, providing an authentic taste of Cambodian cuisine. It also features clothing, accessories, and traditional handicrafts, making it a great spot for souvenirs. Visiting Phsar Leu Market gives you a chance to interact with friendly vendors, immerse yourself in the local culture, and observe traditional shopping practices. It’s the perfect place to try street food, including fresh spring rolls, grilled meats, and sweet coconut desserts. The market is open daily from 7 am to 6 pm, allowing plenty of time to explore.

30 min

Stop at Wat Krom, also known as Wat IntNhean, is a notable Buddhist temple in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Located on a hilltop with stunning views of Sihanoukville City and the Gulf of Thailand, the temple features a large reclining Buddha and a shrine dedicated to the local deity Ya-Mao. Beyond being a place of worship, Wat Krom is a cultural landmark, drawing visitors with its peaceful atmosphere and architectural charm.

Then we pass by The Golden Lions Roundabout, or Vimean Tao Meas, is a key landmark in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. We will not miss The Statue of Preah Thong and Neang Neak in Sihanoukville is a tribute to Khmer heritage. Erected in 2022, it is the country's largest copper statue, standing 27.34 meters tall, including its pedestal. The statue depicts the legendary figures Preah Thong (Kaundinya I) and Neang Neak (Queen Soma), who are considered the co-founders of the ancient state of Funan. According to legend, Preah Thong, an Indian prince, arrived in the region and married Neang Neak, a Naga princess. Their union is said to have given rise to the Khmer people and culture. Located at the Ream Beach roundabout, facing the sea, it symbolizes Khmer traditions and has become a major cultural landmark, drawing both locals and tourists.

A good day, spoilt by lunch experience!

The guide was very good, we visited local market, temple, viewpoint etc. Lunch was chaos. the cafe was clearly not set up for the numbers that descended on it! If you want lunch choose a quieter beach front cafe!

Wear appropriate clothing...

Wear appropriate clothing for hot weather and to visit temples. The tour can extend due to traffic and at busy periods. Tour guide San was excellent.

World Class Guide

An exceptional excursion led by our guide Nak. He continuously supplied us with interesting information and made sure we got to and from all of our attractions safely. All stops were must sees and he made sure we had water and restroom stops. One of the best tours we have taken.

Very enjoyable trip to Sihanoukville with a small group

Truly enjoyed this small group Sihanoukville city tour under the care of tourist guide Vantha. He really knows alot and gave us background stories and info in every stop in our itinerary. The cold water and wet wipes he provided were much appreciated too because of the hot weather. The driver with Vantha was very nice too, helping some of us coming down the bus. Thank you.

Samun was a great guide and representative of Cambodia

I booked this tour as a shore excursion for a cruise stop. The company provided great communication prior to, day of the tour and following the completion of the tour. Communications through Whatsapp included detail directions on where to meet, including photos of landmarks to find them, and directions on how to meet them. Prior to the tour, I met 5 people onboard the ship who wanted to join me and the company was accomodating to include them and get us all in the same group/van, which we appreciated! Our guide, Samun was nice, informative and very helpful. Our driver was also very accomodating and a great driver so we always felt safe. Samun walked us through a local working fishing pier to see the fishing boats (there were so many!) and we saw "wet markets" where local families were selling their fresh catch in buckets along the alley ways and streets. The temple we stopped at was beautiful and we had time to walk around, take photos and watch the local monks dressed in orange robes move around the grounds. We stopped at a local outdoor market that covered about two full city blocks, selling everything imaginable. We drove by and stopped to see local statues and buildings relevant to the area. Our tour was to include a 1 hr stop at a local beach, but because other passengers from a different ship were delayed in joining us, we only had time for a brief stop to take photos. As a result, the company was kind enough to offer a discount for not providing the fully advertised tour, which was very much appreciated. I would recommend this tour in Cambodia and wish for you to have the opportunity to meet Samun and witness his great smile in person!
