Itinerary
You will meet your local expert at the meeting point. Let's begin the food adventure!
Starting from the Cathedral of Como, our food tour begins at the first stop, where we’ll savor a selection of high-quality cured meats, perfectly paired with a glass of local wine, all served in a charming, historic wine shop.
In Como, locals have a beloved tradition: enjoying pizza by the slice right in the heart of the city! To truly eat like a local, a stop for this delicious, quick pizza is an absolute must.
As we continue, we will taste one of Como’s most traditional dishes: polenta uncia or polenta with braised meat. A true queen of the table in the Como area and throughout the Alps, polenta is made by cooking a mix of corn and buckwheat flour and served either with tender braised meat or with melted butter and local cheeses, as in the classic polenta uncia. We’ll also try the famous sciatt—crispy, golden pancakes with a gooey, stringy cheese center, a crunchy delight that perfectly complements the heartiness of the polenta.
As we conclude the tour, you’ll enjoy a seasonal delight, a warm, velvety zabaione with chestnuts or a refreshing artisanal ice cream, depending on what the moment calls for. Both are served with a rich, aromatic coffee, because in Italy, no meal or food tour is truly complete without a perfectly brewed espresso to finish.

The tour is a great way to check out the area, learn about different sections of Lake Como. Taste different local foods and wines. Wonderful knowledgeable tour guide.
This walking food tour, led by our guide Mario, was amazing. We tried a lot of traditional foods, including ravioli, pizza, and buckwheat! The people on our tour were also great. Mario did a great job explaining the history behind the food and pointing out some points of interest in Lake Como. This food tour was one of the best I have done (and I have done a lot of them).
We participated in this tour and were accompanied by Chiara; we visited Como. In a different way. Chiara is contagious with her enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge!
Our host Janis communicated well with us prior to meeting and was a very bubbly and engaging host. We had a great time experiencing different local delicacies. My favourites had to be the beef and ice cream. Not forgetting the fresh meats and cheeses with prosecco or wine 🤔 . Thanks again Janis for the great experience. It was lovely to meet you.
Amazing tour! Our tour guide Giada was so friendly and knowledgeable, and we were able to learn so much. We were able to see so much of Como and try some awesome food. We tried unique pizzas, meats, cheeses, wines, polenta, espresso, award winning gelato (my favorite of the tour), and more. Highly recommend, and we would absolutely look to do another food tour in other countries/cities.
I had an amazing tour with Chiara! She is so knowledgeable about her city and the food she recommended was delicious. On top of that she is kind and funny, truly felt like I was there with a friend. I highly recommend this tour and her, it was a huge part of making my trip such a positive experience!
Janis was AMAZING!! She made us feel like part of a big family, and even went above and beyond to show us all the hot spots (even ones not related to the tour). We just wanted her to stay and hang out with us the rest of the day!! She’s so bubbly and knowledgeable about all the food, the city, traditions & history!! Our Queen Janis “Joplin” gave us one unforgettable food tour!!
