Nice drive from Vienna to Bratislava. Hugo was friendly, informational, helpful, and very polite. We ended up asking him to pick us up at a different location, and he was very accommodating.
We took the tour on a Tuesday in October. The main attraction was to be the Palace but much to our chagrin it was closed on Tuesdays. I would have expected the tour company to know this. We were to walk to the charming city center and enjoy a nice lunch in an outdoor setting
We are sorry about your experience, but its not true. Castle terrace and gardens are always open to public and are free to enter. You wanted to see the inside museum which was closed on special occasion.
Bratislava was very lovely and has a rich history as the site of Hapsburg emperor coronations. We enjoyed a hearty Bratislavan lunch and our guide was nice and knowledgeable, although a little hard to understand. I thought the tour was a bit pricey, as it worked out to almost $200/person, for 2 hours travel, coming and going, and 90 minutes with the guide
Overall, it’s a lot of driving for a half day tour. Was it really worth leaving Vienna? Maybe if a tour guide had been included. Without such I’d pass on this.
Dear Angela, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the experience didn’t quite meet your expectations. We’d like to kindly clarify that it takes only around 50 minutes to travel from Vienna to Bratislava, as they are the two closest capital cities in the world—making it an ideal option for a half-day trip. Additionally, we do offer a tour guide option for guests seeking a more in-depth experience. In your case, the guided tour was declined at the time of booking, so our driver drove you around Bratislava and showed you all the main highlights of the city and then you had your free time and driver back. We would all like to point out that you booked a group experience, but we gave you a private transfer even with a party of 2people.
Our driver rasto was on time and was very pleasant. We met with a local guide named Luba and she was great!! She had so much information of the history of Bratislava! The town is lovely and I would definitely go back again!
Used this tour as a comfortable way to visit Bratislava at Xmas. Our driving Andrej was wonderful. We should have been met by a local guide but for some reason they were not available so he did his best. After visiting the castle we had 3 hours to ourselves which is more than enough as it is a small city.
Dear Gary, thank you for your review. This tour does not include a guide, but we offered you local guide which you refused for extra charge, so Andrej showed you around like our drivers always do.
Highly informed driver who was a great source of insight. We learned a lot and appreciated his interest.
It ended up as a private tour with a driver and local guide. Both of them were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We had to pay for local guide but that was critical to our enjoyment of the experience. It is an expensive trip but for us it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Bratislava is a charming city with medieval history. My daughter and I enjoyed the tour. We liked the Arts and Craft Market in Bratislava Castle and the stroll in the Old Town. Our guide Eva recommended a restaurant where we had a taste of the local cuisine. The sheep cheese pierogi and goat cheese were a delight! The driver Peter is also nice and made the one hour journey from Vienna to Bratislava smooth. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Vienna.
Save your money and take the train. No tour guide was included. I paid an extra fee for a tour guide. From a safety standpoint I feel like the same driver should be used. It was disorganized and unprofessional.
We are sorry, but our driver took you around the city and showed you around after you were surprised and refused to pay for a local guide. The tour clearly states that it does not include a local guide/ we always offer as an option/ and also offer other tours which already include a guide. After threatening us with bad review if not giving guide for free you kept your promise.
