Itinerary
Here we will start our tours when you arrive by cruise ship. We will meet you 15 minutes before your tour departure time to ensure we start our tour on time. When you exit your ship, please walk to the security gate (there will be only one security gate) and look straight ahead, where you will see a sign saying Internet booking. We will be standing there with your name on paper. If you are from a Hotel or Apartment, we will pick you up at your apartment or in the lobby at your hotel.
We will give you a city/town tour through downtown Kaya Grandi. Kaya Grandi is the Main Street, where all the shops/restaurants and ice cream shops are in Kralendijk. After the tour, you can feel free to be dropped off in Kralendijk, where you will be able to do some shopping and walk around. If you are from the ship, Kralendijk is only a 5 or 1 min walk away from your ship where the cruise ship ports are.
That is where we have boats coming in for shelter when big waves come toward the Island.
You will be able to take a nice picture of the wonders of the sea. That is going to be a pleasant surprise for you.
We will be driving through a neighbourhood called Hato, where most hotels are situated.
Here you will see the most affluent part of the Island, and your tour guide will share with you why the rich people are coming to Bonaire.
Here you will be able to get off the vehicle, walk around, and take some pictures of the beautiful scenery of the clear blue ocean. If you don't want to walk down to the beach because of the Steps, that is no problem. You can stay at the top and enjoy the beautiful view.
From a distance, you will see the beautiful scenery from where the water level was many years ago and one of the best Diving spots on the island.
Here we will share the history of when the enslaved people were living on Bonaire, and you will see the building where the women and the children were staying during the week while the man continued going to the south side of the Island.
Your tour guide will share and show you some of our oil tanks and why we have them here on Bonaire.
Here you see the beautiful scenery of the flamingo in the background and the tallest hill on the island called Brandaris. Here you will not get out of the car since it is a reserved area for the flamingoes, and we are not allowed to let our guests get out of the vehicle, but you will be able to take pictures of the Flamingoes while your tour guide is driving. Depending on the day, you will see the flamingoes very close up; sometimes, they are far away.
Rincon is the oldest town on the Island, where everything started many years ago. You will still see the oldest buildings on the Island and the lovely scenery of why Rincon was chosen many years ago when Bonaire was discovered.
Here you will see the splashing waves hitting the cliffs on the coastline with sometimes a lot of donkeys walking around until we reach downtown. We will also be passing right next to Bonaire Landsailing, where you can see people sailing on land.

You can see here a ship wrack, a famous spot for divers.
We will stop at the pink water and the salt mountains so you can walk around and take pictures. That is the most beautiful stop on the Island because on your right-hand side, you will see the two blue colours of the ocean, and on your left-hand side, you will see the pink water with the white foam on the ground coming out from the salt water.
Here you will see the Slaves Huts, where you will be able to experience how the enslaved people were working on the Island and where they were sleeping during the week. We'll be taking some time talking about the corals. That is the last stop, and from here, we will drive you back to the ship. It is a great time to ask still questions you may have to your tour guide. A fairly broad knowledge of the island. Interesting panorama. The geography of the place is striking, especially in the southern area. It is important to mention the very good behavior of the guide. Always willing

Our tour guide, Shekhinah, was amazing! She took us all over the island. It was a tour of just 6 people so it was very personal. She is a great driver, which is really important to me. We would 100% use her again!!
Thank you for your kind words! We’re delighted you enjoyed your tour with Shekhinah. All of our guides are professionally trained, and guest safety is always a top priority. We look forward to welcoming you back for another island adventure!
The main issue with this tour was our guide Kiki or Keke. While she was friendly and fun, the information she gave us was very limited and mostly just factually wrong. She couldn't name a single wildlife species native to Bonaire or give accurate information about them. Every lizard was an Iguana or a baby Iguana, even though they were completely different species. She missnamed local plantlife, gave completely wrong historical information about sights, which could be dissproven by just reading the tourist info boards by the road...and couldn't share a single detail about the salt production. I don't want to be disperaging, but she didn't know salt was made from seawater through evaporation, but kept talking about chemicals "and such". If the information was just sparse, I wouldn't complain, but for it to be so weirdly wrong at times is just unacceptable and disappointing. Before booking, we read many very positive reviews mentioning great local guides, which makes this experience even more sour and our expectation far from met.
We walked off our cruise ship just after 11:30 am and walked to the gate where our tour guide Kay-Kay was waiting for us. The tour was planned for 3 hours visiting points both north and south around the island. There were 9 people in our group as we traveled in a passenger van. The tour started by heading south where we passed by Donkey Beach and made a stop at Bachelor’s Beach. We then stopped to visit slave huts and then to see and stop at the White Pan salt flats. There we could get samples of the large salt crystals that are made there for the Cargill corporation. After the salt flats, we headed north with our first stop at a beach area called 1,000 Steps. You need to walk down 67 steps to reach the rocky beach from the parking area. The waters were a vibrant blue. We then drove past an old slave owner’s estate called Karpata. Along the way, Kay-Kay would stop to point out parrots in the trees, along with donkeys, iguanas, and goats along the road. She also noted different types of trees and pointed out cave areas as we drove around the island. We made a brief stop at a small lake called Goto Meer to view flamingos. We then headed south driving through the town of Rincon on our way to visit Seru Largu, a large hill offering panoramic views of the island before returning to the pier and the ship. Kay - Kay did a great job as a tour guide.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed exploring Bonaire with Kay-Kay and seeing so many of the island’s beautiful highlights. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to her. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future!
The vehicle was wayyy too small for all the ppl she shoved in the van When booked I was told it was a guided tour for 4 people.plus the driver. When we were picked up it was a Mini Van with 8 other people. My husband is 6'2" 250lbs and broken leg.& he was smooshed in the back seat with his knees up into his chest. For the price we paid and what happened I wouldnt do it again.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that this tour is clearly described as a shared tour, not a private tour. Depending on the group size, guests may share a vehicle or van with other guests. The van used for this tour has 10 guest seats plus 1 driver seat, and with 8 guests on board, the vehicle was within normal capacity. We always encourage guests to carefully read the full tour description before booking, as each tour and service includes important details about what is included and what to expect. If a guest prefers to travel only with their own group, we recommend booking a private tour instead of a shared group tour. We are sorry that you felt uncomfortable during the tour, especially considering your husband’s height and leg injury. However, these personal comfort needs were not communicated to us before the tour. Had we known in advance, we would have done our best to advise you on a more suitable option. Tip: Gina, for future bookings, please make sure to read the full tour description carefully before booking, so you know exactly what is included and what to expect. Thank you again!
