Weve done a couple of street art tours before and this one was pretty lame. They only showed us the artist they represented and saw like 4 murals. Its a shame cause BA was a lot of street art and we just didnt learn anything new. The ones they showed us didnt need a lot of explanation.
Tour guide never showed up. Also the only one that never reached out to confirm in advance. Don’t book this tour.
Hola Kathleen,We're truly sorry for what happened on your tour, on Wednesday. Your guide had a bicycle accident on his way to the tour and lost all communications with his family and the team for 4 hours. For this reason, we got in touch with all the participants of your group tour on the same day to refund the booking and invite all free of cost to another tour date which, unfortunately, didn't meet your schedule. We completely understand this type of inconvenience wastes an opportunity in a limited stay in Buenos Aires and we could not be sorryer. We're a small project and ours is a labour of love. We are very passionate in what we do and always strive to make sure that everyone who joins us for a tour has an exceptional experience that becomes a highlight of their visit to Buenos Aires. It's my understanding that your refund was processed by the platform and should be available for you from 3 to 5 business days. Best wishes, Cecilia
Wonderful guide! Learned about artists’ art traits and techniques. Neat variety. Glad I went on this enjoyable tour.
Tour guide never showed up. Never called. Never replied. Typical Buenos Aires disorganization. But Viator owes me a refund and also has not replied to my messages. Stay away from this scam.
Excellent tour. Our guide was a history university lecturer in BA. Learned and saw so much we wouldn’t normally on our own.
Thank you for your feedback! Teo is an amazing guide with years of experience running our tours. We're truly happy to read you had a great experience. Besos from Buenos Aires! Cecilia
Do not book this tour! They sent me a message confirming a phone conversation that we never even had. After they did not show up for the tour they rescheduled my tour for Saturday (we left BA on Friday) . Never answered any of the phone numbers we had when we were trying to reach them. Please do not spend your time or money on this tour!
Thank you for your feedback. We're a small team and when one of our guides became unavailable and could not be replaced we tried our best to accommodate everyone on all our other available dates, messaging them in advance to try and reschedule or to issue a refund. I believe we were unable to reach you, as it happens if people are on holiday and away from their phone or emails. I can assure you we were sincerely disappointed to have to cancel the tour so close to the date. We did receive an email from the 3rd person on your booking which had shown up the day prior to the tour date so we were puzzled. I guess it could also be a miscommunication as your booking on Tripadvisor was done for Friday, and we did receive an email from the meeting point on Thursday. Our reputation over the last decade has been built solely on the high quality experiences that we offer and we take pride in being a highlight of so many people's time here in this amazing city. We are sincerely disappointed as we see that you didn't get to experience the best that we have to offer. Although it's not possible to make up for your unsatisfactory experience, we have issued a full refund. Best wishes, Cecilia
This was not my choice in tour but I have to admit I learned more than expected. I took this tour because my husband wanted to, I was really glad we did. The guide was pleasant and informative. This tour is by van and walking for the majority of it.
If you like art, you'll like this and you get more opportunities to explore an uncommon part of the city, to include a art exhibit where you can support some of the local artists.
Well organized, well informed walk and bus tour of a vibrant, highly original street art scene in attractive residential neighborhoods. The public art movement highlighted by this tour is underappreciated in Buenos Aires and interntationally. I recommend this experience highly to first time as well as knowledgeable English-speaking visitors and to new arrivals to the Buenos Aires.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us your commentary and are happy you had an enjoyable experience with us. Best wishes and happy travels!
We went on the street art tour on our second-to-last day in BsAs. Looking back, I wish we had spent our time doing something else. A tour of street art seems a novel idea, but the actual experience was poorly planned and executed. Of the three hours, we spent maybe one hour actually looking at and discussing graffiti. Because the graffiti is dispersed throughout the city, each wall is followed by a five-to-ten minute walk or drive. If this is your first day in BsAs and the weather is kind, maybe you'll be content just to roam. Don't get me wrong, there were a handful of very cool paintings, but we also skipped several I thought might be noteworthy--not sure if the tour guide didn't have any background on these pieces or they were anonymous works. The actual narration on the few pieces we did see were wishy-washy: some loose connection made to modern Argentinian culture, but not very coherent. At some point, we spent half an hour at Graffitimundo's 'gallery'. That ended up being a few rooms with a pretty shoddy job of poster-hanging. Another rep of theirs walked us through and the experience was basically a sales pitch on their collection, which cost $50-150 per poster. This was when I understood the motivation behind the tour. We even waited outside for five minutes because they weren't ready for us when we got there. They are a non-profit organization, and they say that some of the proceeds of the tour go towards supporting the artists. I could get behind this, but forgive me for being a little skeptical. Maybe this tour would do better to focus on the history of the Palermo neighborhood and work the graffiti into some greater context. They definitely need to plan the route better to keep it entertaining. I also wouldn't describe eighteen people as a "small group tour".
Thank you for your feedback, we are disappointed to hear that our tour didn't live up to your expectations. Our tour routes are planned very carefully in order to include the most impressive murals while keeping travel time, whether walking or by bus, to less than 5 minutes between different areas visited. Our Street Art Origins Tour covers four neighborhoods which are in very close proximity: Colegiales, Palermo Hollywood, Villa Crespo and Palermo Soho. Over the course of the tour we see about 20 different murals, as well as areas that for the quantity of art present are like open air galleries where we can take in many works at once. We include a visit to UNION Gallery, which is one of the only art galleries dedicated to urban art in the country. Here participants learn about artists' production off the streets, check out their latest creations, visit the atelier of our artist in residence and also enjoy refreshments and have access to a restroom. Our unique collection ranges from small prints and limited edition works all the way up to large format original canvases with price points from USD10 - USD3,000. The day of your tour, there had been some maintenance in the main room and for the group's security, we delayed entrance a couple of minutes until the space was safe to walk into. We began working with local artists in 2009, and since then have directly contributed to the scene and its individual artists through street art tours, artwork sales and commissions, mural productions, workshops, local and international exhibitions, and an award-winning documentary film. It is always our highest priority to ensure that our customers leave feeling happy with the experience we've offered them, if you send us a mail to info@graffitimundo.com we can proceed regarding refund options.
