I visited the Bargello Museum in Florence with my daughter and granddaughter in May of 2026. The experience was far superior to our tour of the Uffizi, which is overcrowded and viewing of the art is seriously limited because the rooms are closed off at their entry doors. The artwork and the structure at the Bargello provide the visitor with a quiet tour of historical sculpture, painting, tapestry, tile floors and frescos, in addition to a glimpse into how these homes were enjoyed during the Reinsurance. Moving at our own rate and viewing the work in the 360, without pushing and loud tour groups obstructing our view, allowed us to experience the history of Italian art and culture in a deeply emotional manner building an understanding of the beautiful Italian cultural history.
Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Donatello and Verrochio David in bronze was the highlight
The on site contact gave us our tickets and we got in line with the rest of the people who had pre-booked their tickets directly thru the Accademia website for our same time. We thought we bought 5:20 pm skip the line tickets. We were given 5:30 pm pre-booked tickets and got in the 5:30 line which didn’t enter the museum until after 6 pm. We were very disappointed. The onsite person told us they were given the wrong tickets. Hopefully this is the case.
It was a wonderful experience and our guide was fantastic! The wine cave is so cool and the history so remarkable!
Never use Viator. We ordered tickets in February as we have been to Florence several times and have our favorite galleries to visit especially Bargello. I paid ahead and when we arrived never received our tickets and were told that they were cancelled. This is absolutely unacceptable. This has never happened before. Tickets were issued at time ordered. Your system is a scam because one thinks they are assured of tickets pay ahead and then when we get there not coming through with them as promised. I will tell all friends to avoid your company. I better get a refund snd intend to make a formal complaint and put on my Facebook for friends and people to never use Viator or Get Your Guide. Mary Jane Aswegan. We actually had to repurchase tickets at museums.
I would be cautious in using Viator. They sold us a ticket to Batgello museum in Florence two months in advance and then literally the day before we were to visit the museum they sent an email stating that our tickets would not be available and therefore our museum visit was canceled. They did give us a refund but unfortunately since the museum is very popular we could not obtain tickets at the last minute and therefore it was impossible for us to visit the museum
The museum is closed on the second Sunday of the month. We had tickets for September 8th at 12 The second Sunday. We paid in advance We were not able to go I requested a refund with Viator, they have not emailed me confirmation that will get a refund Please confirm my refund.
good morning, we are sorry for the inconvenience, due to a calendar glitch the purchase was made possible on a day the museum was closed. However, the ticket was not issued, of course, and your payment has already been fully refunded. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The Donatello David was great. I always wanted to see it. Great collection. The .useum had an extensive collection.
The national collection of statues, carving, monies, and art were fantastic. The craftsmanship can truly be appreciated in this museum.
No crowds. Even in the heat. So much to see from all different art periods. You could get up close to the statues and exhibits. Nice room museum.
