We had an EXCELLENT day-long tour with Sothy, the owner, to see how real Cambodians live, work, and play. His driver and we rode in a new electric SUV into the countryside about 30 minutes away from the city. Sothy spoke perfect English and described things in a clear way, and everything he said was interesting and pertinent. We started by visiting the nearby fishing port to see how they work and live. We then went out into the rural area and started by visiting an elementary school, unannounced! Sothy helped us buy school supplies to give them, which was fun. Inside a 1st-grade classroom, we wrote our names on the board and the teacher then wrote them in Khmer. The kids sang the ABC song, followed by an ABC song in Khmer. We visited a small ship-building village, then a small family shrimp-processing hut, followed by a walk into huts/homes over a shallow bay. Sothy explained how they built the boats and how they processed the shrimp. He had a way about him whereby he spoke to the residents who then allowed us to peek around inside their huts. We then drove to the rice fields and took a small boat ride through the canals, about 15 km total, and saw fishermen out at work with their nets. On the way back toward town, Sothy checked at an unfinished pagoda palace to see if they’d let us in, and they did. A guy unlocked the door, turned on the light, and we were the only ones inside the vast pagoda. Sothy explained much about Buddhist beliefs and practices. After the covered lunch, he showed us through the vast city market, and then we drove around to see the city and beach highlights. I would highly recommend you contact Sothy to inquire about his tours. WhatsApp +855 81400094, or info@Sihanoukvilleseaside-tours.com.
Experience in the local life very rewarding I enjoyed it very much with Sothy as guide beautiful day
We had a great day and got to see the real Cambodia. Our guide Mr. Sothy was terrific. He worked hard to tailor our tour to the things we were interested in.
We had a great day exploring the city and the countryside of Cambodia. Mr. Sothy was our guide and worked very hard to customize our day. He was always interested in our feelings - more time here - less time there. We got a great picture of life in the city and also drove out to the countryside to see how people live and work there. We took a boat ride through a rice farm where we saw many beautiful birds. If you would like to see the real Cambodia I recommend this tour.
1. Attentive, pleasant, knowledgeable, and hardworking guide. 2. True local flavor instead of normal tourists temples 3. Incredible experience to country side and fishing village. Of course, we did have late lunch by the sea, and we opted not to visit a local market. 4. Literally brand new leather Toyota SUV. 5. Cold water and cold towel service.
Very enjoyable range of activities. Including visiting temple, the White Mansion built for the French Governor who later became the president of France. We had a boat ride to a floating restaurant and enjoyed a delicious meal.
We did the half day tour. Our guide - Sen was excellent. Very knowledgeable and gave a lot of historical background. Also very willing to help in the market with translation etc. We were very happy with the tour and felt we learnt a lot about Cambodia and saw lots of different things in a short time.
Excellent excursion that I highly recommend. The places visited are magnificent and the guide (Eav) is fantastic and very friendly. Don't hesitate!
Me Sothy was a great tour guide. We visited many places the beach to swim, a local market, the local school. Where we were able to hand out pencils to the children. We had lunch at a training school. We also got to visit with a monk and were blessed. He kept us busy and a lot of fun.
On time we were picked up at the meeting point, agreed in advance via WhatsApp details. The day was very interesting. Mr. Sothy gave us a lot of knowledge about the culture, religion and current issues. Especially successful: lunch at the Don Bosco training center. Being provided with delicious food by aspiring staff in the hotel and restaurant area was very nice. I will also remember the visit to the school and the market hall. Thank you Mr. Sothy!
