We are not allowed to fly very close to Sigiriya Lion Rock since it's an archaeological site. Usually, we watch it, but not very closely. Depending on the flight path, you may have a panoramic view of the iconic Sigiriya Rock, a UNESCO World Heritage site, rising dramatically from the surrounding plains.
Enjoy the picturesque scenery of the Sri Lankan countryside, with its lush greenery, vibrant fields, and meandering rivers.
Keep an eye out for wildlife, as hot air balloons often provide a unique opportunity to spot animals from above. This can include birds, elephants, and other wildlife native to the area. Depending on the flight route, you might pass over traditional villages, allowing you to observe local life and architecture from a different perspective.

Our takeoff site is close to the Golden Temple, offering a chance to see it up close or from a distance, depending on the wind direction. Sometimes you can pass very closely, but sometimes you will see it from a little far.

Pickup Locations & Times
Once you provide the name and location of your hotel, we will confirm your pick-up time. Please note that our complimentary pick-up and drop-off service is only available for guests staying in Kandalama, Dambulla, Sigiriya and Habarana or nearby areas. Our vehicle, branded with the Sri Lanka Balloon logo, will pick you up from your hotel. After booking, please contact our hotline to arrange your pick-up time and schedule a passenger briefing at your hotel the night before your flight. Be ready in the hotel lobby at least 5 minutes before the confirmed pick-up time. After your flight, we will drop you off at your hotel or any location of your choice within Dambulla, Sigiriya, or Habarana.

We had a great time in the hot air balloon! The view was beautiful and the pilot Mustafa Kirim was incredible. He made sure everybody had a good time, played music and told very funny jokes. All in all an amazing experience, would do it again☀️
