In the wild, Grey Nurse Shark populations are protected and in serious decline. Captive populations and breeding programs are very important in learning more about these amazing creatures. I had the most incredible experience doing the Extreme Shark Dive at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium on 14/06/26 during the 11am session. From start to finish, the entire experience was unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to the amazing instructors. Unfortunately, I can’t remember their names, but the instructors running the 11am session were absolutely outstanding. They were so kind, caring, patient, and professional, making everyone feel comfortable and confident before entering the water. Their passion for what they do was obvious, and they went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt safe while still having an exciting and memorable experience. Being surrounded by the sharks and marine life was incredible, but it was the instructors who truly made the day special. The knowledge these incredible individuals know really show that there is people in this world wanting to look after our environment and creatures. Thank you to the team for creating such an amazing memory that I’ll never forget. I would highly recommend the Extreme Shark Dive to anyone considering it—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience made even better by the wonderful staff.
Amazing fun experience. The instructors were amazing and very patient. The sharks and fish swam so close to us.
This was amazing!!! Went with my friend with no experience at all and they helped us every step of the way. Pedro and Nicky took the best care of us in the tank. Ali and Ayla were the best behind the scene. I would do this again in a heartbeat beat!!!
My best friend and I had an absolutely incredible experience on the shark dive! Pedro and Nicky were our instructors, and they were outstanding. Their patience, professionalism, and dedication to preparing us for the dive made us feel confident and safe every step of the way. The entire team was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. A special thank you to Ali and Ayla for their kindness and support throughout the experience. We highly recommend this adventure to anyone looking for a memorable and exciting experience. Thank you all so much for making it such an amazing day!
Amazing crew and very fun. Good humour, teaching and easy to pickup for a first time diver.
Good times. Really helpful guides and support
Amazing experience, Thank you to the amazing team Ayla, Pedro, Nicky and Laurie for making this such a fun day.
My husband and I joined this shark dive for our honeymoon. We were complete beginners—we’d never even put on a wetsuit before—but thanks to the amazing support from Hope, Pedro, and the entire team, we felt safe and had a wonderful experience. The pre-dive training and practice sessions were thorough, and we felt well-prepared before entering the water. Being in the same space as the grey nurse sharks felt like a dream. The sharks were so calm and gentle, and we were absolutely amazed by the size of the massive stingrays swimming right past us! We are also so glad we purchased the photo package beforehand! They shared so many great photos with us, and it was definitely worth it. It was truly a magical time. A huge thank you again to Hope and Pedro for making our honeymoon so special. We highly recommend this to everyone!
Hope, Laurie, Nicky, Pedro & even Bili the dog were amazing. They made an awesome experience even better. Thank you so much to you all
What an adventure. Not having scuba dived before I didn't know what to expect but the staff at Sea Life Sydney (formerly Sydney Aquarium for those who have been around a bit longer) supported me every step of the way. Ayla and Pedro know their stuff and made the process really straightforward from training to gear up to : time to get wet! I was lucky enough to get a solo session so the animals seemed really comfortable to come very, very close to check me out. My family got some great photos from the tunnel. The time of year and number of other pstrons may impact, but the staff were absolutely fantastic with my support crew (family), answered all their questions and made sure they were at the right place at the right time for some excellent photos. Staff also made sure they tool some great pics and footage and pulled it together into a lovely recap once I was out and wondering what I had just done. Thanks all.
