Itinerary
Start your walk at Rovinj Market in Valdibora Square. Just open Ciceru nearby to begin exploring the open-air stalls and waterfront setting, where trade, color, and salt air still define the city’s rhythm.
Stand before the red façade of the Califfi Palace and observe its Baroque windows and stone details, a former noble residence that now anchors the square from the outside.
Pause under the Balbi Arch and look up at the carved stone faces and the Lion of Saint Mark, the ceremonial gateway that once controlled entry to the island city.
Walk across Piazza Matteotti and take in the pastel façades and harbor views, a square built on land reclaimed from the sea when Rovinj stopped being an island.
Climb Grisia Street and admire its steep stone pavement, shuttered windows, and gallery-lined façades, an outdoor corridor where art and daily life merge.
Look up at the bell tower of St. Euphemia and observe its Venetian-inspired form and rotating statue, a landmark visible from almost anywhere in town.
Stand on the rocks of Monte Beach and take in the contrast between stone, sea, and the church above, a raw edge where the old town meets the Adriatic.
View the remaining sections of the old city walls and notice how houses are built directly into the fortifications, turning defense into everyday architecture.
Wrap up your tour on the Riva promenade. Take a moment to enjoy the waterfront, the tightly packed façades, and the place where Rovinj’s island past finally met the mainland before ending your walk.

Easy to follow with good information. We enjoyed it very much. And the price was right for an audio tour.
Thank you for your great review! We’re glad the Rovinj tour was easy to follow, informative, and felt like good value for the price.
This is a great self guided tour. We enjoyed being able to tour at our own pace, and we learned fascinating details and facts. If we hadn’t done this tour, we would have missed important sites. My suggestion to the developers is to tweak the apps user interface, especially when toggling between the chapters and directions. I ended up having to go back to the email with the link many times. Also the narrator pronounced “Rovinj” a few different ways throughout. All in all a great app and we would happily do it again.
Thank you for your detailed and helpful review. We’re very glad you enjoyed the Rovinj tour and found it useful for discovering places you might have missed. We also appreciate your feedback about the app interface and narration, and we’ll use it to improve the experience.
I looked at the descriptions of other audio walking tours, and this seemed like the best — and was outstanding. Good directions got you from place to place easily, the talk at each location was just the right length and included history, context and ‘vibe.’
Thank you so much, Bernard! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the Rovinj audio tour, especially the directions, pacing, and mix of history, context, and local vibe.
