*THAILAND: THE KALEIDOSCOPIC EL DORADO* Elbert Hubbard, prominent American author, said: "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When life gives you clemency, go to Thailand". In the resplendent realm of Southeast Asia, Thailand unfurls as a pulchritudinous tapestry, woven with threads of venerable tradition, vivacious culture, and breathtaking natural splour. This enchanted land, where opulent temples pierce the azure heavens and lenticular islands beckon amidst turquoise seas, bewitches the senses and captivates the soul. It is the fulcrum of Siamese majesty, enthrals with its baroque temples, where gilded Buddhas preside over saffron-robed monks in hushed reverence. The air vibrates with the syncopated rhythms of street food vendors, peddling succulent tom yum and crispy spring rolls amidst a riot of chromatic street art. In Thailand's idyllic south, Krabi and Phuket unfurl as twin jewels in the Andaman Sea's emerald embrace. Our group trip to Phi island from Phuket is etched in my mind. The guide's vivid commentary on Phi Phi island was much like Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales", serves as a captivating accompaniment to the journey, weaving together the surroundings and the group's experience. Krabi's karst limestone monoliths, like towering sentinels, guard pristine beaches and crystalline waters, inviting intrepid souls to kayak through hallowed caves and scale sheer cliffs. Krabi Resort, a locale beset by a certain jejuneness, does present a culinary experience that, whilst passable, lacks the piquant zest necessary to leave an indelible mark upon the palate. The attentions of the staff, though well-intentioned, oftentimes suffer from a lardaceous liveness, thus detracting from the overall sojourn. In summation, this establishment, situated as it is at a remove from the shoreline, doth prove a somewhat lacklustre haven, its hospitality and amenities notwithstanding. The Nature Phuket, a veritable sanctuary of tropical elegance, proffer a culinary odyssey replete with flavours so sublime as to titillate even the most jaded palate. The staff, imbued with an aura of warmth and solicitude, always keen to help out to one's every whim with alacrity and aplomb, thus rendering the sojourn a truly indulgent experience. In every respect, this establishment does prove a bastion of comfort, its hospitality and amenities combining in harmonious concert to create memories of enduring delight. As the Thai shores fade into the distance, thus concludes an odyssey of enchantment, leaving naught but sweet reminiscences and an ardent yearning for reprise. -- Dr. Dipankar Guha
The tour was ok and the guides were nice. The three islands were really close to each other. However, there was no fresh water to shower after you swam in the ocean and even there was no bathroom to get change after we finished swimming at the last stop. I had to wear my wet swimsuit all the way back to the hotel and it’s really sticky with all the salt water. Remember to have breakfast before they pick you up the the hotel even it’s pretty early in the morning because I thought there should be a little snack on board but actually there was nothing for you until lunchtime at around 12-1pm.
Be careful! This trip is actually false advertisement! There won't be 4 islands but only 3. The cave and railay have been removed but they don't tell you until you're in the boat. And they would be the best part. The guest island is actually a waste of time. And that was the opinion of most on this trip. Also, it's quite a mess when you arrive at the pier. You're left to find found out the desk to register to, no guide to welcome you or explain anything. I definitely don't recommend this if you're interested in krabi. If possible, I'd like my money back.
We were collected straight from our hotel on time and dropped at the marina. It was a little difficult to find the stand for the trip partially due to a language barrier with the Thai people who worked at the port however once found the Tour operators were really helpful. The tour guides were excellent, very knowledgeable about each area and came round with refreshments often due to the heat on the speedboat. Each stop off has a shop where you can buy extra refreshments if you wish so take extra money if you want to do this. The included lunch was excellent and had a variety of choices both meat and vegetarian. The views were stunning on each island would highly recommend this trip!
Quite unorganised - I didn’t really know what was happening or where to go but somehow managed to get on the right ferry! The islands were nice, very tropical with beautiful beaches. However I did get stung by a jellyfish within about 2 minutes of snorkelling (where there were hardly any other fish anyway!), and then the guide, who knew I’d been stung fairly badly across my neck and on my face, encouraged a child to go in who was scared of jellyfish! There were jellyfish everywhere! I was bewildered. Anyway, unfortunately this caused me quite a lot of pain for the rest of the day which dampened my experience. Overall it was an okay trip - nice to see the Krabi islands but nothing to see snorkelling and high risk of jellyfish stings!
