The trolley tour was very...

The trolley tour was very historical. Would have liked to learn more about the current city of Savannah. The city is beautiful and the trolley tour saved us a lot of walking in the heat, but the narration would have been more enjoyable with more variety.

Nice tour, poor organization

The trolley and riverboat tours were both non stop, informative historical recounts. My sister and I are both seniors and found these tours very accommodating for elderly. We were extremely disappointed and frustrated when it came to catching the trolley after the riverboat tours. We were quite delayed getting off the riverboat due to docking issues which rushed us considerably to catch the trolley back to the visitor center. By the time we got to the stop, the trolley had left. We along with another couple, waited approximately 10 minutes before finding out the trolley left without us even though we made a beeline from the boat to the stop. I made a call only to find out we had to wait 2 1/2 hours for the next trolley to arrive. The other couple made a call and were told to go to a restaurant on another corner to catch the trolley they were sending. When the trolley arrived, they passed by us and indicated they would stop at the original location to pick us up, making us walk all the way back to the stop where we had been. It was an extremely warm day and no apology nor an offer of a cold drink was extended to us for the negligence in trolley service. The whole experience was tightly structured with no deviation from their schedule which can be a challenge for others with disabilities.

A great day in Savannah!

Very informative. The trolley ride and the boat ride were exceptional. The driver of the trolley really knew Savannah and really enlightened us

Poor

Harry’s delivery was monotone, perfunctory, overly verbose and at some times incomprehensible. Not once were we asked if we had any questions. He even managed to get the bus stuck up against a stationary truck near River Street.

stay on the bus and skip the boat if traveling with elders

We really enjoyed the bus tour of the city. It was a great overview of the area. I had hoped to be able to catch some photos of certain places, but the bus moved too quickly to finish the photos I wanted. That was the only drawback. The boat portion of the tour was not as good. I had chosen that combined experience to be able to see the river and hear about the history of the town and the river. Not only were we unable to see clearly through the windows of the boat, we could not understand the narrator because there was too much noise in the cabin. We were on the third floor of the boat. The only place I could hear clearly was the hallway near the restrooms by the elevator. My 87-year-old father heard nothing. We were very disappointed. Speaking of my father... I had called ahead and asked about mobility challenges and was informed that it would be an easy transition from the bus to the boat. That did not prove to be true. Only with his mobility "wheels" walker device and my help did he have enough support to make the transition from the drop off point to the visitor center on the riverfront and then across the cobblestones and rails to the dock. It was treacherous for him and I feared for his safety as we made our way across the street on the way to the boat and back to the pick up site. I definitely would not recommend that experience for anyone else with mobility challenges. It would be helpful to have listening devices for the ship, tuned to a specific radio frequency like at a drive-in movie, for the tour narration. Perhaps it would have been audible outside. We did not try that because it was nearly 100 degrees that day.

Land and sea history tour

Great narration on land and sea. Friendly and knowledgeable guides. Food and drinks expensive on board boat, so bring water on board.

Gray Line/Kelly. Highly Recommend

We booked through TripAdvisor and this was a fantastic experience from start to finish. My wife loved our guide, Joyce , she made the tour genuinely enjoyable. I was able to use my trusty camera, that has been collecting dust. The real standout, though, is the 48-hour hop-on/hop-off after the tour. With temperatures above 95 degrees this past weekend, being able to call Gray Line/Kelly (the name on the bus) whenever we needed a pickup was an incredible feature and easily 5 stars on its own. The trolley was never crowded, and everyone we encountered was professional. We did take the Riverboat Cruise. ;) I almost forgot to mention this, but I'm glad I didn't: a special thank you to the woman who answers the phones. I'm not sure if it's the same person every time, but whoever it is (or whoever the team is), thank you. She was professional, informative, and incredibly helpful at every step: booking, follow-up questions, figuring out where to meet for pickup on the day, and helping me understand how the trolley system works. We don't know your name(s), but please know your help was truly appreciated. It is hard being a tourist, in the back of my head, i know I am asking questions that you all get a thousand times a day. So, I appreciate your patience.
