Santorini Tour from Chania Area or Rethymno
Description
The volcanic island of Santorini lies north of Crete. And this daytrip by fast cat is a great chance to take a close-up look at it. Curved around a colossal, sea-filled caldera that was formed by a massive volcanic eruption 3,500 years ago, it's all black cliffs, whitewashed villages and blue-domed churches. It's picture-postcard Greece. Once you're on dry land, you'll take off on a scenic tour, exploring many of the island's attractions and learning about its history. Explore a town where whitewashed houses, cobbled streets and tavernas cascade down the cliff-face in steep terraces. You'll spend about 90 minutes in Oia – the village with the most magnificent views on Santorini. From its lofty clifftop perch, the panorama over the volcanic caldera is pure wow-factor. Then it's on to Fira, the island's capital. You'll have an hour or so to snap up treats in the quaint shops and boutiques.

Itinerary
Arrival in Santorini The itinerary lasts almost 1 and 55 minutes to 2 hours and 15 minutes from Heraklion and 2 hours and 30 minutes from Rethymno, depending on the weather conditions. At the port of Santorini, our escorts (dressed in a SEAJETS uniform and holding signs with the bus numbers) will welcome the participants and escort them in the right buses.
First Stop: Oia Then, the buses will leave for Oia. The participants will stay there for approximately 2 hours. Later on, the bus will depart for the next stop, Fira. On days of heavy traffic, variations on schedule may occur and the busses might stop first at Fira.
Second Stop: Fira On the way to the town of Fira, the participants will receive interesting information about the tour program. At their arrival in Fira, they will stay there about an hour and a half. After visiting the beautiful capital of Santorini, if they wish may participate in a unique excursion by boat to the Caldera or they could stay longer in Fira.

The time of the tour was significantly longer than advertised. Having a better understanding of the time commitment would have allowed us to plan the day better. The Volcano Tour (cash only) announced on the ferry was a tourist trap that was not worth the cost paid. It caused the day to be rushed. Lunch, where the tour guide recommended and ate free, was grossly overpriced. €70 for a gyro, burger, fries, and water. Elsewhere, this lunch would have been ½ of this price or less. Santorini was gorgeous. It was truly one of the prettiest places I’ve ever seen. There were just too many people. The tour buses from the cruise ships and other tours went Oia and then to Fire in a line. They seemed to all arrive and leave at the same time. It would be better if some buses went to Oia while others went to Fire. It would reduce unnecessary crowds. I’d recommend the experience, because you have to see Santorini if you are in Crete.
It was a long day but so worth it , everything went like clockwork .. ferry crossing was fabulous , bus pick up good , Santorini however was disappointing , such a tourist trap , so many people ,got to see the iconic views
