This was an amazing exhibit/site. Really cool how they are digging out this lost city with so much history. I would recommend to bring headphones if you are doing the self guided tour to not disturb others.
Amazing! It was very well presented and interesting. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone going to Akrotirii.
Too expensive for this visit. No flyer to explain and visualize the site: a QR Code but no network... only the technical installation to protect the ruins is impressive...
A wonderful visit in an impressive building. The entire thing is under cover which is impressive and a lovely break out of the sun. Easy to get to by public bus from Fira. Lots of information and opportunity to read, we didn't have an audio guide but I would recommend getting one to get more from your visit
Incredible museum, was not expecting to walk through a full town. The place is very large with well placed seating and information cards in English and Greek to guide you through some of the key areas of the town. Would recommend going to the Prehistoric Museum in Fria as many finds from this town are displayed there
Great visit, the site is very beautiful and more sheltered from the sun which is perfect. we did it alone with a guide it must be great
Four of us visiting. At 20 EUR per person hard to swallow. Even harder to justify when inside and finding it impossible to connect to their WiFi! Once you have accepted the rip-off, you discover that the most interesting section (through the village) is cordoned off allegedly due to staff shortage. Enough said…
Akrotiri site great but don’t waste your money on this tour - its awful - you download an app with a voice that is generated by AI and we gave up on it after about 5 minutes. Just buy your ticket when you get there!
The self-guided audiotape did not coincide with the pathways in akrotiri. Several paths were roped off, so it rendered the audiotape useless. At least I was able to download the self-guided tour, unlike some other tours we took. :) I listened to it outside of the site just for more info. it was easier to just read the signage by each section. The site was great, but could have just bought bus tickets and entrance fees ourselves for less money.
We followed the audio tour, which I paid extra for, and many of the descriptions were impossible to find. We wandered around in circles looking for the artifacts and artwork with no success. I finally inquired at the desk and learned that after the earthquake several months ago, many of the pieces were moved to museums for sake-keeping. Update your materials!!
