The spirit of the Chinese Man haunts the outside of the Santa Barbara Post Office. People have had encounters with him by being tripped with his cane for being rude or not walking on the right side of the street.
El Paseo Restaurant and Casa de la Guerra are both homes to many spirits. Between a woman in black to even Judy Garland.
Many have claimed to see the ghosts of Stefano and Maria Verisco outside of the Santa Barbara City Hall dancing, as if reunited in death.

Giving 3 stars only because our teenage daughter enjoyed this tour. The tour was just ok. It began with a very unprofessional list of “rules” that I would’ve thought were a bad joke but our guide insisted they had all happened before. The rules she gave us were “no french kissing dogs we pass”, “no pushing people into the street”, “no hitting on trees”, etc. Our guide didn’t seem confident in her own knowledge of some stories she was sharing. It seemed like she might’ve been making things up at times. At the end of our tour she abruptly told us that our tour was over and the other 2 gentlemen would continue on with her as they had purchased the extended tour. Literally left us standing in the dark streets of a town we are not familiar with, 15-20 walk away from our car. She did ask if she could “point us toward” State street, but that is not where we parked or met her for the tour. There was no information given prior to the tour that we would not all return back to the origin of the tour together. Further, after she left us, she was alone with 2 male strangers in the dark streets of Santa Barbara. Does this company not care about the safety of their employees and customers? Why do they not send guides in pairs? The 2 men on our tour seemed nice but it is appalling that any guide is sent out alone.
We had Thomas as a tour guide, and it was a very low effort tour. We saw five locations and there wasn’t much talking about ghosts or hauntings. It was a lot of slow walking to fill in the time gap of a hour. The tour ended at our last location and did not circle back to the original meeting point.
Had fun! Very entertaining and informative. Be careful where you walk, the sidewalks can be a little treacherous at night.
While our guide was a nice man, this job is not for him. We’ve been on other ghost tours and the guide weaves a story that holds your attention. Everything was kind of matter of fact.
No real stories - lots of “did you knows” about things not having to do with ghosts. Covered minimal during the hour. Walked more than anything.
Had such a fun time on the Santa Barbara ghost tour! Our tour guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and did a great job mixing local history with spooky stories. You could tell he really enjoyed what they do, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting Santa Barbara and want something fun and different to do at night!
This event was the highlight of my trip!! I arrived and expected to be part of a group and turned out I was the only one who signed up on that day. I learned so much about Santa Barbara history and spooky encounters. It was so much fun!!! Highly recommend if you’re just starting to dabble in the spooky side. Loved it!!
Great way to know the history of Santa Barbara. A tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly and great experience.
I highly recommend you pass on this tour. I am an avid ghost tour person and this one is a pass. It’s more history than ghost stories. The guide is friendly and tries hard to do a good job, but the whole interaction was slightly awkward. You’ve been warned.
Thomas was a wonderful guide, full of historical information. I sprung for the emf reader and it was popping, mostly in the first half of the tour. We had an awesome time, and totally suggest going. It was fun going off the beaten path. Thank you Thomas!
