Join us for this fun tour experience as we teach you how to ride a Segway and discover our wonderful city too. This tour is designed to cover as much of The Gaslamp Quarter and Bayfront as we can in the time allowed. Enjoy learning to ride a Segway Personal Transporter with our local experts. Ride the “Bike of the Future”, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of San Diego. We will safely guide you through America’s Finest City, complemented with historical information and quirky fun facts throughout the ride. One more thing, be prepared to have fun
The Gaslamp Quarter, known as the Historic Heart of San Diego, is a 16 block downtown neighborhood full of nightlife and world-renowned restaurants. Full of Victorian architecture and small museums, as well as Horton Plaza Park and Petco Park, it's a must-see.
Opened in 2004, the Petco Park is a relatively young stadium and permanent home of the much-loved San Diego Padres, and home to many festivals and other events. It features a grassy area known as Park at the Park, several popular restaurants.
Dedicated to the exploration of cultural anthropology, the Museum of Man features exhibits that explore everything from cannibalism to beer history. Currently undergoing a seismic retrofit, the Cannibals and PostSecret exhibitions still remain open to the public.
Balboa Park is a 1,200 acre park full of museums, the beautiful Spanish Art Village, restaurants and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. It was placed in reserve in 1835 and remains one of Americas oldest public parks, right in the heart of downtown San Diego.
The Spanish Art village was originally constructed in 1935 for the California Pacific International Exposition, it designed as a colorful vibrant small courtyard meant to invoke the feeling of being transported to a country village in Spain. Today it is a thriving community of artisans, everything from blacksmiths to glass-blowers to basket weavers.
Right across from the Inez Grant Rose Garden, the Desert Garden features unique and intriguing desert plants, flowering cacti, and rare succulents from around the world. The 2.5 acres contains more than 1300 different plants to see.
Featuring over 50 shops and 17 restaurants and eateries, Seaport Village is a beautiful water-front shopping area to explore any time of the day. It's a wonderful place to watch the ships in the bay, or just walk around the winding paths and explore the unique and sometimes eclectic small shops.
The USS Midway missed WWII by only a week, commissioned on September 10, 1945. Despite that the USS Midway was the longest operating aircraft carrier of the 20th century until being decommissioned in 1992. The Midway now serves as a unique permanent museum on the water.
The Rose Garden of Balboa Park features a stunning 1,600 roses of 130 species with new species and verities of roses added every year. The garden is in bloom throughout March to December and is a three-acre walk of color and beauty.
A landmark of San Diego, the San Diego Convention Center boasts over six-hundred thousand square feet of space, with a capacity of 125,000. It is home to conventions big and small all year, and in particular is home of the world renowned San Diego Comic-Con in the summer.
The Star of India was built in 1863 originally named Euterpe, and remains the oldest-ship still regularly sailing. It is a National and Californian Historic Landmark and makes its permanent home in San Diego Bay.
The Homecoming is a bronze replica of Stanley Bleifeld's depiction of a sailor returning home and being embraced by his family. The original was sculpted for the Navy Memorial, and the replica now honors the service of the local Californian sailors of the Navy.

Phenomenal tour with Jeff -- this is our fifth Segway excursion (in different cities) and we loved the personal touches on the tour. We seriously don't think it could have been any better. We will 100% be recommending this for company to friends and family. If you want to get the lay off the land before setting off to enjoy the area... this is a fantastic way to do it. In fact, we used the tour information already to have a great meal and a wonderful walk back. Truly all we hoped it would be. Thanks to Jeff and Kenny (and Judy) for all the recommendations. Kenneth with Another Side of San Diego tours was AMAZING to work with, we worked together planning over the course of 9 or 10 months and from the very start he was extremely communicative and helpful with planning this group activity. We spoke on the phone multiple times, and always was quick to email me back addressing many questions and changes in group sizes. The segway tour was wonderful! We were provided with helmets, water bottles, and the Segways. It turned out that the tour consisted of just our family so we were able to customize it to our preferences. Amy was knowledgeable, helpful, and kept the tour going at a quick pace. She even gave us restaurant referrals for later in our trip. We got to practice on the Segways outside the office and that helped us feel more confident before starting the tour. We were able to use bike lanes and walking paths besides just city streets which made it more comfortable. We covered a lot of area and visited many popular spots, receiving historic background for each area. The time flew by and we enjoyed the tour very much. We've been to San Diego many times before and this was by far the easiest way to get an overview of the city. We'd highly recommend this Segway tour!

The Segway tour was amazing! Mari and Matt made sure we were comfortable on the Segway before we started our journey into the streets of the Gaslamp district. We visited each place as advertised. The tour went for just over 2 hours. The flexibility with this company was great as we had to reschedule our tour at the last minute and they were able to accommodate us. Thanks for a memorable tour!

My husband and I have made it a habit to seek out a Segway tour every time we travel. We are so glad we found the Gaslamp Segway Tour with Another Side of San Diego Tours. Our guide was Jeff and he possessed a wealth of knowledge and experience on our tour. Only one of the group signed up for this tour was a novice and Jeff took the time to make sure he was well trained and versed in everything Segway before we took off. Our 2 hour tour was packed with great information about the history and progress of the Gas Lamp district. We Segwayd (?) around downtown and along the harbor as well as Balboa park. So much information and so much fun! Highly recommend!

This was a super fun experience and a unique way to get the highlights of Balboa Park, Little Italy, some interesting historical tidbits and facts about this area of San Diego. Preston was a delightful and entertaining guide and the Segways were a blast for this 70 yr old tourist.
