Salkantay trek - 5 amazing days

We booked the 5-day Salkantay trek through Jorge, who kindly arranged all details of our excursion in a group of 16 people, accompanied by 2 amazing guides (Jean-Paul and Manolo). Everything was seamless! We rented walking sticks and sleeping bags from the agency, duffle bags were provided for free to carry up to 3kg of personal luggage by horse. All the equipment was in very good state. The price of the entry to the Machu Picchu was included in our package, but we had to purchase the tickets ourselves on the day before our visit to the site (in Aguas Calientes). The accommodations were fantastic (cabins in lovely campsites), and 3 large meals were provided per day, plus snacks, hot chocolate, tea and coffee. We were woken up at dawn each day with a hot coca tea. The package included a visit to the Santa Teresa hot springs, and a return by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, which I highly recommend (quick, confortable and a whole experience in itself).

Great day trip from Cusco

Jorge, our guide, pick us up from our hotel in Cusco, drive and guide us to Lake Humantay - a glacier lake at 4250m elevation. It is an enjoyable day trip from Cusco. Jorge has been very attentive. He took us up a scenic path and down a different one with stunning view. Very nice.

Amazing Salkantay Trek!

Fredy Apaza Huarhia, Justino the Chef and Romario the assistant chef made this an amazing experience!! Every detail was taken care of. When I had a hard time with the hike, Fredy arranged for a horse or a car to make it easier. All the food was amazing! There was great variety and a ton of food! The accommodations were in beautiful settings and were very fun! Overall a great experience!!
